SH - I wish someone, somewhere could explain to me why Obama is a socialist. Using logic & facts, correct definitions and coherent language. Not to mention no quotes from blogs, newrepublic.com or it's ilk, or any of the clowns from Fox News. I've asked around. Concur. You have to step into their irrationality to “have an argument” with them.
Use Ann Coulter’s approach: smack them down hard and fast before they drag you into their demented world of unreason and feelings.
My husband, over the weekend, got into one of these arguments on Facebook with a cousin (American citizen) that has been living in England for the past 11 years. The cousin is all for Obamacare. My husband didn’t come back with any facts, just opinion, but it would have been useless even if he was presented with facts, as his mind would not have changed. Fortunately, there were a couple of people on the thread that weren’t for Obamacare and of course there were some that knew of some personal anecdote where it justified the hugely expensive, freedom limiting takeover by the government.

LOL! I’m engaged in one myself right now! Jumped in to help a fellow Conservative! Not the first time, not the last time. I play one of the games there and have over 1200 friends who can see my posts. I want to let the peeps on our side know they are not alone, and I pray the ‘others’ might come around. But mostly for our side.

Gee thanks. Do you think I hadn’t figured that one out all by myself? I’ve always come to my FReeper family for help and back-up. Why should this time have been any different?
Some people have innate abilities and can sell them for a good price. Many have average ability but work very hard at whatever they do and make smart choices in life, reaping the financial rewards for their labor. The terminally naive among us seem to believe that this is 'unfair' to those who either have little innate ability or, more often, simply don't apply themselves and/or make foolish life choices that limit their opportunity for financial advancement.
These folks embrace socialism because they know the unproductive will benefit and can do so while pretending that taking the fruits of their labor from people who are productive is 'social justice'. Most of realize that it's just stealing from others in the name of 'fairness'. Unfortunately, when the stealing is promoted and enforced as well as distributed by a smothering, all-powerful government, no longer accountable to the citizens it purports to serve', the productive citizens are doomed to being, not only stolen from, but demonized by their government (and the unproductive) for having accumulated wealth, no matter how hard they worked for it.
Morons may love socialism but they have no real concept of how stifling and completely counter to normal, human self-interest it really is. They'll learn - too late - if Obama and his gang are allowed to keep destroying our economy and subjugating the people of America with lies about 'fairness' and 'choices' that will no longer exist if this crowd is not soon vanquished. Time is running out.

Not to mention the fact that they don’t provide for their own defense but hide behind the skirts of the USA.
I’d love to see the US withdraw from NATO (and Korea) and wish them best of luck in preserving their own societies.
