Well I enjoyed Defying Gravity. I actually like shows like Defying Gravity and Virtuality... Here is why... It is different... No FTL, warp speed, or plastic forehead aliens.. But shows about our potential future..

Yahoo TV and Hulu are teamed up too. You can get a lot of shows online there.

The problem is that Laura Harris played the character Daisy in Dead Like Me and I keep thinking about that character every time I see her. There is an interesting abortion subplot with that character that could be interesting (suggestions that abortion is illegal in the future of the show, that another character pushed her into an illegal abortion, and some hints at regret or torment over it because the character keeps hearing baby cries that nobody else can hear). Looks like they went the Lost route of making sure there is some sort of mystery supernatural or alien twist in the plot. The ship if Virtuality seemed more solidly hard science fiction but I agree that the low-tech and reasonably hard science fiction approach is interesting.

Ugh! It look’s like Chuck’s new season isn’t scheduled to begin until March of 2010. I’m looking forward to V and the new season of Legend of the Seeker at the beginning of November and Flash Forward near the end of September.

Stargate Universe?
Lou Diamond Philips seems to be in about the first dozen or so episodes.

The revelation that Stargate Atlantis is going to have the obligatory politically correct lesbian has soured it on me a bit but I’ll give it a chance. The sad thing is that a hot lesbian isn’t even the brave way to deal with the issue. It’s the chicken’s way out.

“Stargate Atlantis” should read “Stargate Universe” in my previous reply.

I caught the pilot and second episodes of ‘Defying Gravity’ on Hulu and they were better than I had expected. Ron Livingston (Office Space, Band Of Brothers, etc) and Malik Yoba (New York-Undercover) work very well together; as do the women.
The blonde is quite versatile. I remember she played Daisy on ‘Dead Like Me’ and the DA in ABC’s ‘The Womens’ Murder Club’opposite Angie Harmon.
The bearded Brainiac in charge of the mission has some deep secrets up his sleeve and it will be fun seeing them revealed in later episodes.
‘Warehouse 13’ is getting better with each episode. Especially with the addition of Caludia to take attention away from the sometimes annoying Myka, act as a foil for Artie (Saul Rubinek) and perhaps a ‘little sister’ for Pete.
‘Eueka’ is at a slight loss with Ed Quinn missing, but the episodes seem to hold their own. What the show needs is the resurrection of some past project coming back to wreak some havoc. Which may be happening with Friday the 14th’s episode.
Jack.

I missed the first half-hour or so of Defying Gravity, so i was having trouble following what was going on. Could've been that the flashbacks were throwing me off.
Haven't watched Being Human yet, but I've been taping it.
I seemed to have lost my interest in Poltergeist: the Legacy. I've got 20+ taped and haven't watched in a couple of weeks.

What about the women on DG, were they hot? :)It took me about an hour to figure out that one of them was from "24", an early season, Day 2, I think.

Tricia has been in demand this year.
Sorry to see her get knocked off on “Burn Notice” but I guess they have to keep the storyline fresh.
Warehouse 13 is pretty entertaining.

Actually the ship in Virtuality is based on the old project “Orion”....

Yes, I know it’s an Orion ship. But they had a lot of nice details, like the ring sections rotating to make sure that “down” was correct once the thrust started.

I agree that part that I didn't understand... Another thing that Virtuality reminded me of is a docufiction called Escape from Earth... However, there where some major differences:
1. Trip was to Alpha Centauri and it took 15 years...
2. Propulsion was using the Bossaurd Ramjet
The thing that was similar was to pass the time was using Virtual Reality environments to prevent the crew from going bonkers..

The whole ‘virtual reality to keep the crew sane’ thing was in some other recent sci-fi movie, too.. I remember a scene where a guy had some kind of breakdown and got sent to the virtual-reality room, and another scene involving a suicide in the virtual-reality room.
I want to say it wasn’t a made-for-TV movie, either, cause I remember seeing some really spectacular cinematography and thinking how amazing it would’ve looked on the big screen.

Have you viewed “Knowing” yet? 4 stars from this critic!

I guess I’m the opposite of you. Never very fond of “soap operas in space” types of shows. I like a lot of adventure in my sci-fi.
