I still have my 2 Joan Jett and the Blackhearts albums from the 1980’s. I was in college when these albums were produced. I still like her music when it’s on the radio. I always turn it up.
OWWWW! (you know, like she screams it in “I Love Rock ‘n Roll).
I have to wonder how much our “vision” of what rock was in the 1970s and 1980s comes from Mick Rock.
He shot album covers for Blondie, Queen, Joan Jett, David Bowie, and Iggy Pop. He also shot Syd Barrett’s album cover but it wasn’t as iconic.
I forgot “Lou Reed” too.
Album covers were so great. I have almost every album I ever bought(1975 and later), and I inherited dozens of others from my Uncle 2 years ago. What great covers. He had great taste in music, and was only 10 years older than me so we liked most of the same classic rock. Of course it wasn’t classic when we first heard it! Now we’re all classic, eh?
