Reviewed Replies & Delayed Posting
Posted on 09/05/2009 1:39:48 PM PDT by Pragmaticratican
Why are forum replies reviewed and posting delayed?
Makes it kinda tough to carry on a conversation when it takes hours to communicate.

It’s a time warp thing.
Just stand on one foot and stick your finger in the opposite ear while you post. That should fix it.

Sometimes a reply will not appear in the page sent immediately after submitting a reply. This often leads to double-posting. However, waiting a couple of seconds and then refreshing the page almost always shows that the reply hit OK. If more people did that, double posts would be much rarer.
There is no post review process prior to a post appearing. A post may be deleted by a moderator after appearing, however.

Your posting history doesn’t show much attempt at engaging in conversation. Only one in fact. Did something specific happen there that thwarted your efforts to communicate? If so it’s not obvious from that thread.

I went looking and found this on ABC...
“Obama addressed the scandal over his Senate seat Tuesday afternoon, saying, “I had no contact with the governor or his office and so we were not, I was not aware of what was happening.” But Obama’s senior advisor David Axelrod told a Chicago affiliate of Fox News that Obama had in fact spoken to Blagojevich about his empty Senate seat.”
I assume this would answer pragtroll’s question.

Not really. He was asking for a source on a specific quote. I spent three hours this morning trying to find a source for it. I watched about 15 videos of the Commie In Chief hoping to catch it and save it before it could be scrubbed. I found nothing. I did find that dozens of lefty sites are latching onto this to discredit the dozens of righty sites that have duplicated riverratrob's site. (Who knows if his was the original?)
Undoubtedly Pragmacratican WAS a lefty troll who came here to embarrass us. OTOH if people continue to post that quote with its supporting photos and can't source it beyond some blog it really isn't the one who points it out that is creating the embarrassment. Is it?

I will be happy to give you my thoughts...
You see, FR has a built in “check system”. One, mind you that is severely LACKING IN THE WH. Well, as I was saying, when you are hurrying to post, & all excited to rant, sometimes something comes out inadvertently, that you did not mean to say.......something else severely LACKING IN THE WH! So, you have that extra moment to review your thoughts, & make corrections....sadly to say the WH LACKS THIS ALSO!
So, I would recommend you direct your dim friends & leaders IN THE WH to our site here to learn how to conduct themselves!

I’ll see if I can help find the exact quote, but that he initially denied contact with Blago is verified.
I wouldn’t doubt that Obama’s team has scrubbed that particular quote from existence though.

I wish you luck in finding it. Three hours of fishing around through videos and articles (mostly dupes of the same things) of 0bambi is about all I could take. The quote sounds very familiar to me. My intent was to find it, save it and prove it.

(I found this thread looking to see where Pragmacratican got banned because I had responded to him/her on the other thread about Blago & Obama.)
Honestly, if Obama had made such a ridiculous - and instantly refutable - claim, I think I would have remembered it because I was obsessed with cataloguing Obama's bloopers & lies until they eventually just got too numerous.
EVERYBODY knew Blago & Obama had a longstanding relationship in IL. It defies belief that he would have tried to claim he didn't know him where there are a million pictures of them together in IL on file across the internet. Even he wouldn't have been so brazen to try to pull that one off.
Though that quote seems to be all over the internet on blogs, I don't think it's legitimate - I think it's probably an email urban legend or something. Pragmacratican (sp?) was correct in being suspicious of its veracity, IMO.

Though that quote seems to be all over the internet on blogs, I don't think it's legitimate I don't see a real trace of it either. It's a good lib trap to avoid, one that lets them take the attention off the contact O and Blago had.
Thank you both...
