The knock against Brosnan in his recent Bond movies was that he became a bit too programatic. However, he was excellent in GoldenEye.

I thin Brosnan's best spy movie was The Fourth Protocol, the first movie he did after Remington Steele. In it he played a Russian James Bond, a charming, ruthless cold blooded murderer. In one sequence he makes love to his associate, Joanna Cameron, knowing that he was going to kill her immediately after. Interestingly his costar was Michael Caine, who spent the movie looking for him and chasing him.

He was OK in GE, but I just basically didn’t care for him. Too much an amplification of Roger Moore’s most grating qualities.

“... Hit that like the fist of an angry God !”...”

Now THAT”S funny. I suspect that that will be used in threads that warrant the use of that line.

The Best Bond in one of the best Bond movies (closet to the Ian Fleming Novel of all of the movies).

Agreed...one of the best musical scores; as well.

I think Rog was too old when he was casted. Michael Billings probably should have been Bond. My guess is that Michael being in “UFO” and in “Dream A40” made the producers shy away.

In the Dr. No cover, Bond almost looks like Victor Mature. The Tiffany Case on the DAF cover looks more attractive than the annoying Jill St. John was in the film (who was rather notorious for her precipitous IQ drop from the moment of her first appearance, when she seemed relatively smart and in charge until the end of the film when she was almost a borderline retard, acting like a hapless, stupid child).

According to the novel, Tiffany had platinum blond “devil may care” hair with grey eyes. The seen that is on the cover is when Bond meets her for the first time at the hotel in London. She wearing her underwear and sitting aside in a chair getting dressed.

The funny thing about the novel DAF, Kidd and Witt are gay.

You mean Michael Billington ? He definitely had the JB look. I forgot he had the brief appearance in The Spy Who Loved Me as the Russian agent lover of Barbara Bach's. He appeared very George Lazenbyesque...

He was auditioned for the role for years even after Moore had signed on.

Linda Evans might’ve been a better fit for the role, and she was (at 29) a suitable age.
