If I recall correctly, Major Garrett was discussing the Van Jones story and said something I found amazing. I thought he reported that the White House said that they knew about Jones' past and statements. The White House (or the President) claims that Van Jones was up front with them about these things, but they thought it would not be an issue.
Does anyone else recall this?
I don’t recall this, however, anyone with five seconds to do a Google search could have found them.

If they knew about it and didn’t have a problem with it, then why not come out and say- “Yes, we knew all this and we STILL wanted him on our team.”

Did it ever occur to anyone that Van Jones’s controversial statements HELPED get him notice to begin with and caught BHO’s eye? Jones is, after all, cut from the same ideological cloth as BHO, Rev. Wright, Ayers, Dohrn, Alinsky, Tom Hayden, Abbie Hoffman, Frank Marshall Davis, Hugo Chavez, Oliver Stone, Ed Asner, Sean Penn, etc.
I meant you could have found Jones’ past controversial statements, not what Garrett said.. ie, even a nitwit with half a brain who was willing to look would have known that Jones was a liability. Either the administration didn’t want to know or they turned a blind eye to it.
To O’s team I’m sure Jones is a moderate compared to the rest of them.
It was a Valerie Jarett quote to media that they had been watching Jones ever since he started his organizing in Oakland. They were stoked they could get him. My words but basically they knew exactly what he was and who he was. He is one of the triplets, Obama and Rev Wright being the other two.

Oh, they knew fully. Their belief was that no one would take notice or care as the MSM didn’t say a word about this guy until he was forced to resign.
You heard right, and as Hannity just said (paraphrased), “The White House knew, and Jones was exactly the person they wanted. They and progressive lib leaders are still praising Jones.” Moreover, they either don’t know or don’t care that they are a dwindling minority of America.

Scott pointed out earlier today, top Obama aide Valerie Jarrett has said, “So, Van Jones, we were so delighted to be able to recruit him into the White House; we were watching him. . .for as long as he’s been active out in Oakland.”
..or, through their own perspective, they saw nothing wrong with the statements until they became a liability.
