It says something about Leno that his first show guest was the racist West.

Actually, his first guest was Jerry Seinfeld.. who had the funniest line in the entire show:

"Ya know... back in the 90's, when we 'quit' a show, we actually left the show!".

Kanye West was supposed to perform (not talk) with Briahnna and some other rapper.... What they performed was horrid... and, I even like SOME rap music... I was profane, putrid, and boring...

Jay Leno actually visted our ship (USS Iwo Jima) during Desert Storm. He was a heckuva nice guy and took the time to meet and greet everyone who waited to meet him. He put on about a 45 minute routine for us and raised our spirits when we needed it most. I most likely don't agree with his politics but he sure treated us right.

Geraldo Rivera visted also but was just the opposite, what a douchebag. He wouldn't give us the time of day. Just a little photo op for him.

Per the overnight ratings, he got about 17.7 million viewers.

There wasn’t much competition as the other networks were mostly still doing re-runs.

By next week, as more season premiers are available, we’ll see whether Leno can sustain that viewership.

Jay Leno is the best of a sorry lot. I can't stand Asshat Letterman, and O'Brien continually has Bush bashing jokes with no balance to spoof the other side. Not only that, he is very sophomoric and not funny in the least.

I guess I'll tape Leno and watch him until it's time to hit the sack. The alternatives are much worse.
