In 1981, what passport did Obama use to travel to Pakistan?

In 1981, Pakistan was on the U.S. State Department's "no travel" list and Obama could not have used a US passport to travel to Pakistan. If he used a British passport, it would mean that he was born in Kenya. Because Obama’s stepfather that adopted him was Indonesian and both his mother and him became Indonesian citizens themselves, a country that did not allow dual citizenships, if he used an Indonesian passport, it would raise even more questions that the American people need answers to. Then there is the question of forgery. You know, I have no idea what nation’s passport young Barry was traveling on in 1981, but to claim it couldn’t have been a US passport because Pakistan was on a “no travel” list of some kind is PURE CRAP.

I KNOW it is pure crap because I traveled to Pakistan in the same time frame on my US passport with no difficulty whatsoever. Not only that, but there were PLENTY of Americans there at the time, working on a myriad of projects. It wasn’t the nicest place in the world for an American, but the pay was good, and with a low profile, no more dangerous that a bunch of other places in the world where Americans toil.

Not only did I travel to Pakistan in the early 1980s, but also to Afghanistan, India, Nepal, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Finland, Thailand, Indonesia, Dubai, Kuwait, Bahrain, and more. I mention this only to establish that I traveled a lot in those days, and a trip to Pakistan was not different in any way to going to any of these other places, you get a visa and go. It was NOT necessary to get any special State Department permission.

One more thing, just to clear up another possible misconception. Other countries don’t give a rat’s ass whether the US State Department have them on some sort of list when it comes to admitting visitors. What, does anyone think that when someone presents at an immigration station somewhere, the immigration official will pipe up with a “Sorry, your State Department has placed our country on a no visit list, so you can’t come in.”

That’s a laugher.

From all the research done on this... there was an advisory, not a ban.

You must have gotten all wrapped-up in the latest viral email regarding this subject, as your post is eerily similar to the bs email that my BIL forwarded to me a few days ago. But thanks for posting this misinformation about the travel “ban” for about the billionth time here on FR.

Only crazy racists would ask such questions about Berry Obama’s past. We should be ashamed of ourselves for even asking to see his passport and birth certificate.

Hasn’t this one already been debunked as garbage?

Maybe I should respond with this:

It's all in the same toilet bowl. He has lied about his ideology, he won't release any pertinent records,so his stated past could also be a lie. As far as I know his whole fricken life may be a lie. The law is the law. If the law doesn't matter then nothing in this society is worth a dam and the whole effort is for naught...

You are full of info aren't you? Where did you get the info that Obama's mother became an Indonesian citizen? Got a link to that one?

It is so disgusting to think that we have politicians who are too selfish and corrupt to do their jobs. I have nothing but disdain for all our elected officials. They are a filthy stain on this country. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that we elect such scum year after year. We couldn’t elect a worse bunch of goons if we tried.

Falls apart right off the bat. Pakistan was not and has never been on any U.S. State Department "no travel" list.

Not to be a pain in the ass, but could you back the statement that Pakistan was verboten to US travelers. I have yet to see a real reference to it.

Considering that my aunt, a religious missionary, went to Pakistan several times in the early 80s, including a long stretch in 1981, casuing her to miss a rather significant milestone in my life, and she undoubtedly traveled with a U.S. passport, I'd like to see this, too.

No it’s not an unreasonable request but it’s one he’s never going to respond to because the MSM will make anyone who asks for it look, not only unreasonable, but absolutely loony. This is one fight he will win and in doing so call into question many more legitimate accusations.

Each and every ‘birther’ would cease and desist tomorrow morning if 0bama would simply be as open and transparent about his personal records and history as he claimed his Administration was going to be.

Wanna bet? The clouds could part tomorrow and the mighty hand of God could descend from the heavens and deliver a copy of Obama's Hawaiian long form birth certificate and the overwhelming majority of birthers still wouldn't believe it.

What is so mindboggling to me is that Freepers can come up with so much damning evidence in favor of an investigation into Obama’s past...

You mean damning evidence like this post?

All true, but getting back in to the U.S. can be a bee-yotch if you've gone to a travel-ban country, unless you can clean that paper trail.

And, yes, I was suspicious before, and aware now, about the lack of a ban to Paki in 81.

0bamas’ hidden records: Why are these off limits?

1 Certified copy of original birth certificate
2 Columbia University transcripts
3 Columbia thesis paper
4 Campaign donor analysis requested by 7 major watchdog groups
5 Harvard University transcripts
6 Illinois State Senate records
7 Illinois State Senate schedule
8 Law practice client list and billing records/summary
9 Locations and names of all half-siblings and step-mother
10 Medical records (only the one page summary released so far)
11 Occidental College Transcripts
12 Parent’s marriage Certificate
13 Record of baptism
14 Selective Service registration records
15 Schedules for trips outside of the United States before 2007
16 Passport records for all passports
17 Scholarly articles
18 SAT and LSAT test scores
19 Access to his grandmother in Kenya
20 List of all campaign workers that are lobbyists
21 Punahou grade school records
22 Noelani Kindergarten records are oddly missing from the the State of Hawaii Department of Education.

Anyone who cares about their country would be very concerned that a POTUS had hidden every scrap of information of his life that he possibly could.

A lot of countries don’t stamp a visa in your passport, but issue you a separate travel document that is surrender when you leave the country. Pakistan wasn’t one of those, but some countries which are a bit sensitive and maybe want to reassure visitors that their stay won’t be disclosed to folks that need not know, used these separate visas. One that I know did this was the Soviet Union, and I believe it possible that Israel also issues a separate travel document.
