The city, they say, suffers from depression and post-traumatic stress syndrome at a rate far more widespread than before Hurricane Katrina. Representatives of the medical and public health community agree that the issues are a lingering challenge to individual and collective recovery -- a post-storm study posited that one out of three returning residents to the region suffered from depression or PTSD more than a year after Katrina -- and doctors warn that the untreated symptoms only compound.

What the "study" failed to reveal was the rate of depression among this dispirited bunch of feckless losers before the storm.

A lot of these people are homeless, under the curse of the democrats, with no hope. I am not surprised this is happening. I will show some pity on the. God only knows their black president is not. They said Bush did not care....well what has Zero done for them lately? This is not a matter of being chicken shit....this is a matter of getting proper mental health care. I don’t really think Zero/democrats will give it to them.

FWIW : The City of NOLA is only about 10 miles X 10 miles,,,

The 9th Ward is still a mess from what I can tell,,,

Ain't many people moved back to that area,,,

Seems to me these PTSD numbers have been “cooked”,,,

If ya’wanna place blame for the flooding in that area

you can start with the COE and Northern shipping companies

that dug that damned Mr.Go ship channel!!!

Why don't you clean up Mexafornia ?!?!?

I lived there nearly 11 years,,,

We tried our very best to leave “YOUR” union in 1861,,,

I'm so sorry we lost !

Maybe next time...
