What a lovely woman!
“That’s why you came to this thread, right? Bah”
This is the attitude that makes 99% of internet sites echo-chambers. Why do people have to like Palin to post on a Palin thread, or agree with the Birthers to post on a Birther thread, and so on? I realize odds are you wouldn’t bother if you didn’t feel strongly, one way or the other. That’s why when you browse Amazon.com reviews, for instance, most people either love or hate the book. Anyway, odds are odds, and they don’t predict the particular instance. Occassionally, people unprepared to agree with super-majority conservative opinion on Palin post on Plain threads. Big deal.
Gee, whatever happened to San Fran Nan’s book?
Off topic question..anyone know if she was asked to campaign for any of the GOP candidates in next months races in NJ and VA?
Maybe back cover?
At a Dollar Store near you?
Not at all.
Nah, even my local Dollar Store knows that nobody’s dumb enough to spend so much as a buck for San Fran Nan’s book.
Burt Lancaster, Oral Roberts, Joe Papp, Condoleezza Rice, Ralph Bunch, Daniel Boone and on and on. It’s a popular title and subtitle.
Back when Gov. Palin was being brutalized by the MSM, some talented FReeper posted a photo of Ronaldus Maximus, in a tux...holding a champagne flute, toasting Mrs. Palin. I kinda have always thought that your FReeper namesake would really ‘toast’ Sarah if he were still here. No offense meant :)
Let’s hope she follows in the Gippers’ footsteps!
People post on a Palin thread that she is irrelevant. Pointing out the oxymoron seems apropos to me.
A key difference is that Sarah Palin has no desire whatsoever to fundamentally transform the U.S.A., to make it a socialist autocracy.
While not casting any aspersions regarding Palin’s competence, for which I have high regard, I ask what is the desirability of competence in the service of a completely wrong goal? Josef Stalin was competent.
Because this is a conservative site, and Palin embodies everything that is stated on the home page. That is why you see unanimous support for Palin while her detractors' arguments are completely debunked. We're not Palin worshippers or cultists, but we don't understand how people here can dislike her.
OK....name YOUR pick.
Reagan won the Cold War and beat the Soviet Empire into the dust bin of history.
Palin says, she “can see Russia from her front porch”.
Hi Greg (waves)...
Tomorrow is Olympic decision day...I saw an article, on a PUMA site, that Chicago is in the number three spot!!! behind Rio and Tokyo!!!
Epic Fail for The Won!!!
She is ONE TOUGH CONSERVATIVE COOKIE and my guess is that RR would LOVE her!
You know...it just has to grate upon Pelosi, the Kennedys, heck, even The Won, that Palin has set literary records. Ha!!! Love it!!!
And had even less political experience than the current resident.
And she doesn’t appear to be any better a liar than the current resident. She was up to her ears in real problems in AK, and quit her job because of them.
I really hope that we can come up with a viable candidate other than her. She’d be an embarrassment as prez.
That was Tina Fey!
You have no idea what’s about to descend on your head.
You’re absolutely right about the Reagan thing. RR was underestimated and mocked and minimized and lied about and treated with disdain by the press and the likes of House Speaker Tip O’Neill.
Read one of the Reagan biographies to get a sense of the similarities between him and Palin. Surely, not exact parallels, but similar.
From the Cannon biography, which was not a cheerleading book, believe me:
“First impressions die hard, and professional politicians treated Reagan condescendingly even after he had served two terms as governor and was well into the second term of his presidency. This was in part because politicians who rose through the ranks in orthodox fashion were reluctant to admit that a former actor could do so well at their profession and in part because Reagan worked at being underestimated. When... O’Neill, an accomplished politician, met with President-elect Reagan on November 18, 1980, he tested him by saying that his Sacramento experience was ‘minor league’ and that legislation might not move swiftly for him in Washington. ‘This is the big leagues,’ O’Neill told Reagan, who smiled while his aides fumed. Reagan told me later that he thought he would do better if O’Neill underrated him. Six months and two budget defeats later, O’Neill was asked by a constituent in Boston what was happening. ‘I’m getting the s**t whaled out of me,’ speaker replied.”
well stated! Reagan was the last American President that I was really happy about. Palin will be just such a President.
“Palin says, she can see Russia from her front porch.”
Uh. No. She didn’t. You’ve obviously been listening to too many lib lies.
Being called a “Pubbie” is an insult the left uses all the time, along with Repuglican, Rethuglican and lots of others.
Either use the proper name or quit trying to be cute, that’s part of the problem in America today. Everyone is talking in “Twiteese and FaceBookese” and not using ENGLISH!
We can disagree if you wish.
But when people compare her to Reagan, they lose credibility. Before Palin gets icon status, she'll have to prove herself. She has to earn it.
Since you put that in quotation marks, can I assume you have a credible first-hand source for that?
Or have you been staying up too late on Saturday nights?
Bring it on!!! LOL
LOL...as an early political admirer of Gov. Palin...may I say her defenders (those like me) make the PUMAs look tame.
Doing what? She quit the last 2 jobs she had, didn't she?
It's a damned big deal when minions of Axelrod and/or RINO operatives troll the Palin threads seeking to undermine her credibility as a viable Conservative contender for 2012. We've all seen these posts and usually they get blasted for what they are.
Consequently, your comment above is disingenuous at best.
No. Neither she nor Obama have demonstrated any competence.
She never said that. Tina Fey did on SNL.
I really hope that we can come up with a viable candidate other than her. Shed be an embarrassment as prez.
Did Palin ever use AK’s proximity to Russia in re: her foreign affairs experience?
I’ll walk where angels fear to tread and say that the pic on the cover doesn’t look that rogue-ish.
Who are on your list of candidates competent enough to be president?
On a serious note. Palin obviously borrowed part of her new book title from the Reagan autobiography, An American Life. A smart decision on her part. But lets not get carried away.
So, I guess that enormous record-setting pipeline deal with Exxon that she single-handedly negotiated in June was a direct result of her incompetence....
What do you mean by "competence?"
She has executed the offices she has held for 17 years in good faith and at a level that exceeded her predecessors.
Now I understand that you want to believe the Tina Fey version of Palin but it's not going to fly here.
Oh...R4F...not getting enough attention are we???
Say ‘hi’ to the kiddies over Kos later!!!
Apparently you do not read much. She was attacked by the left on a full time basis. She spent 1/2 Million defending her self. And AND all the suits were dismissed. ALL OF THEM!
I would have quit too. She can fight slander as a governor. Now she can fight back with a defamation suit if they continue with the frivolous suits. And she can raise money for conservative candidates and for her self for a potential run. Do not be short sighted here.
The left hates and fears Sarah. They defecate them selves when she is around. They want to destroy her. THEY ARE VERY SCARED! She draws a crowd. She relates to people. She raises money. So you on the left should be very scared.
LOL! Wow. I want some of whatever you're drinking/smoking. Now off to read the rest of the thread...
Russia (left) and Alaska (right), with the Diomede Islands in the middle...
And don't forget about the classified briefings she regularly received from the Alaskan Air Defense Command and DoD by virtue of her role as governor.
