Well this is the official live thread for Stargate Universe. I hope it is good and it looks good.. The reason no extras from the local Renaissance fairs...

LOL, now that's funny!
PS: Zombieland was hysterically funny.
You all have fun.. Off to a football game...
Thanks... I’ll take a look at it..
I’ll hopefully be watching live, but I’ll be comfortable on the bed, not sitting on the PC.
I’m recording it...
Thanks for the reminder. I almost forgot! (Off to set the Tivo...)
From all I’ve seen of the show so far, I will not be watching it. The series sounds like “90210 in space.” They are even pushing a lesbian character. Smut doesn’t sell.
It was good but I wouldnt go that far.
bump!!
I have the DVR set for tonight!
my sister, BI and nieces went to see it.... only 80 minutes long??
sister and BIL that is
Yeah, it wasn't a long movie. But, there really wasn't much of a story to tell.
I was LOL'ing, and I rarely do that in a movie.
It was mindless fun, and nothing more. If you expect a plot or clever humor, this movie isn't it....
That’s a shame, I loved SG1, good family fun.
I was hoping for Stargate: Atlanta.
Supposed to be available on hulu.com tomorrow sometime. I’ll be watching it when it’s on there.
Well I chuckled a few times.
Sometimes I have a hard time getting past the nagging little details like how come all of these places they stop at still had electricity after most of the people had transformed in to zombies?
Today was one of those days.
So did I, and Stargate Atlantis, except for when they dumped Tori Higginson.
Bump
Have the TIVO set to record the entire series..
That's interesting -- I wondered the same thing.
And I was also thinking tactics, like "Watch behind the hay bales!".
So far it has a Battlestar Galactica kinda feel.
Crossed with The Last Starfighter.
Love that movie!
A sci=fi geek’s version of heaven. Sort of like Heinein’s juvenile novels.
Looks like the Goa’uld are back.
This is very disjointed.
That makes it difficult to follow.
They are hoisted to an ancient ship. Then they are battling some unknowns. Plus some personnel personal flashbacks thrown in to add to the confusion.
That’s what makes it Battlestar Galactica-ish.
I met Tori at DragonCon a long while back, she was very pleasant. It sucked seeing her go off of Atlantis.
You said a mouthful. Too many plot lines and characters. What the heck is going on?
I got lost when it switched to Carter fighting attacking ships.
Then back to the ancient ship.
Then to some flashback with 2 female characters, one sort of chewing out the other.
Then the crew getting ready to go through the gate.

Whoever was in charge of putting the cutting room clips together shouldn’t have been.
I’m still not sure about this Rush guy, but I do know that Col. Carter would have had this hulk humming by now.
The politician is the selfless hero? Unusual!
a quote from SGU “Dr Rush is right...” gotta like it!
It seems to be a modified version of the opening script for STG: Atlantis.
Ancient control center in disrepair.
Push buttons — see what happens.
So far, it hasn’t captured my interest — not any of the characters and not the story line.
The Senator did the right thing — sacrificed himself to get off this show. LOL
There isn’t enough time for any one character to make an impression. By the way, isn’t Lou Diamond Phillips supposed to be the sta of this show? I’ve barely laid eyes on him.
I was wondering how Phillips was going to get on the ship, too.
Kind of like Voyager without the annoying raspy voiced chick captain. Looks cool. Loved the honorary name of Colonel Carter’s ship.
So glad it was the Senator (Shooter McGavin!) that saved the crew. Don’t think I could take a season of Kinsey II .
Not a big fan of Ming Na, but the rest of the cast looks pretty good.
Carter thought it was the Lucien Alliance. I can't think of any other big baddies left over from SG-1. I'm suspecting the blonde medic has something to do with it.
The characters of Battlestar Galactica with the storyline of Voyager. Dr. Rush is Gaius Baltar.
The colonel won't last long, unless he develops some dysfunctions.
Another space soap brought to you by the estrogen fiends at "scyfy".
Another space soap brought to you by the estrogen fiends at "scyfy".
That about sums it up. I was not impressed.
Next time they should try the characters of Voyager with the storyline of Battlestar Galactica!
Don’t give them any ideas... /g
It’s about half an hour into it here, and so far I have no idea what’s going on. Everyone thrown through the gate into a strange place (apparently a ship); flashbacks which aren’t much use; and now everyone’s milling around in the control room because the lift support’s failing - oh no! Another flashback with the odd (and possibly alien) Dr. Rush and that nerdy fat guy. Sigh. I’ll stick with it, but it’s very slow so far.
Torri was decent. But Season 2-3 were awful. So was the latter half of Season 5. Season 4 and the first half of Season 5 and Season 1 were really the most memorable. We got a lot of Wraith development in Season 4 and 5. And Todd was a much more sympathetic and likeable character than Michael, who turned into SGA’s Kenny (not the Wraith character known as Kenny).
Quite a few people here at least already said that they wouldn’t watch a show with a lesbian, so having Janeway on SGU would not be a good formula.
Oh come on now. This brings up a point. Asgard weapons should have easily have taken care of those Hataks.
To be fair to both Atlantis and Universe, if you left something alone for tens, hundreds of thousands of years, I imagine it’d be falling apart too. But what I don’t understand about it is, why life support would have been left on in the first place. And the ship just conveniently happened to be running out of oxygen at the time of their arrival? Or that they’d be able to dial billions of lightyears back to Earth without a ZPM?
