The Ego Has Landed

THE EGO HAS LANDED

During his campaign, Barack Obama took a moment while walking to his jet to stop and answer a couple of questions, off-the-cuff and ad-lib, for a gaggle of paparazzi swooning and fawning behind a rope-line en-route from the terminal.

As an affable Hussein smiled congenially at his biggest fans, a reporter went badly rogue and asked the candidate a tough question regarding his birth certificate; something along the lines of, “Why won’t you just show it?”

The smile, which had never quite reached his eyes anyway, twisted into a thin-lipped snarl, as those eyes went steely and fierce.

A Herculean effort maintained his composure as Barrack said simply, “Uh-huh.”

He then turned on his heel and stalked pointedly to the waiting aircraft without another word. To call this guy “thin-skinned” is to inadequately address his condition. Petulance. Arrogance. Disdain for those he professes to serve. Bad manners. Atrocious self-admiration. A love for his own image and voice so deep and irrational that it compels him to continually be on-camera, on-air, and on-stage. He is his own worst enemy.

Trying to ramrod Cap and Trade by calling carbon-dioxide (the gas you and I exhale when we breathe, which all green plant life burns during photosynthesis, giving off pure oxygen in return) a”poisonous greenhouse gas" even as the planet cools for the second decade in a row. Oops!

Giving deadline after deadline for rushing the “Government Controlled Health Takeover” through Congress… despite that it won’t go into effect until 2013, and being thwarted at every turn by Democrats in Congress! Doh!!

Claiming to have a “New Strategy” for Afghanistan which necessitated appointing his own handpicked “snake-eating” General…who he now seems to be hiding from as his cabal come up with a new “New Strategy…” Yikes!!!

And now the coup-de-graçe:

Fly Mamacita Mish to Denmark-with Oprah(!)-and soften up the crowd. Then, in swoops Superhussein to make the assembled cognicenti gentry swoon as they wrist-clap and mumble robotically their approbation for Zer0bama’s big sell; The “Chicago Deal.” Uh-oh. The World just showed his Narcissusness the door. They gave him the hook. The U.N. had him walk the plank.

The Ego has landed. Mr. Big Shot just got sand kicked in his, and his wife’s, face by the same world we were told was going to love us because of who He is, and because of what Barry has done over the last nine months. Though they’ll try, there is no hiding behind Bush on this one, especially when viewed in the perspective of the long line of Barry being on the wrong side of everything, since before candidate Soetoro predicted that, “Not only is this surge in Iraq not going to work, it is going to make the situation much worse!”

The jobs he would create by passing the Stimulus. The unemployment rate not going over 8.5%. The taxes not going up for families making less than $250K.

This rump-clown has not gotten a single thing right. NOT ONE. He is such a pathetic joke on this country. The Fringe news media (formerly “mainstream”) who sold America this bill of goods are cringing as they avert their eyes, and as conservative middle-America belly laughs at this grossly inexperienced, uselessly do-nothing poppinjay.

The Ego has landed.

Nice headline, though it’s a bit old. I recall when it was used to make fun of Eddie (”The Ego”) Belfour.

“Gallup still gives him a 53% overall approval. What’s wrong with America?”

Everyone here is a political junky. We live, eat, breathe and sleep this stuff. Most people hate it, and work to avoid it. Thus, their learning curve is damnably slow and frustrating.

It is a sheepdog and sheep sort of divide.

My pleasure, Sara. This guy is too tempting to not just blast with verbal haymakers. He sets himself up over and over and over again. The professor and the policeman, the numerous failed Presidential appointments (commies, pedophiles, tax cheats, etc.), going after the CIA, backing Honduars' Zelaya, backing Kenya's Odinga, not condemning Iran's lethal violence against protesters... it defies the imagination that anyone could possibly be so totally wrong on every single point and be President of the United States of America.

God help us.

He is a perfect, textbook example of the precise character-type to have an explosive fried-circuit meltdown in public.

Watch how, as he disembarks his chopper and walks across the lawn, he always smiles, fakes a chuckle, and points and waves as if there are throngs of fans on the White House back lawn, many of whom he knows and recognizes...yeah, RIGHT!!!

You know that there is nobody there. Ever.

That is a clasically delusional displacement of Narcissistic affection, an affectation of the extremely self-absorbed/hysterically self-conscious. It says, "I'm not happy or sufficient just being me, see... now I'm me with fans cheering at me!"

He's a sociopath who can and will lie just for the sake of not telling the truth, and do so with no compunction or remorse. He exists devoid of any consideration of moral compass, societal norm, or personal compassion.

A powder-keg waiting for a spark...

Well written, I enjoyed this. And he is his own worst enemy.

But just as fun to watch -- he and his handlers don't appear to perceive just how offensive and what a negative force Michelle is. They keep pushing her out there. Or she herself keeps pushing herself into the spotlight. It's great theater.

Even Hillary knew when to make herself sparse. Hillary didn't have 1\10th the real anger Michelle has. Hillary had spoiled rich kid manufactured anger.

Hey, let's not give Obama all the credit. His predecessors (plus current and previous Congresses) gave him a good running start.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the TARP program (bank bailout) was begun on George W. Bush's watch; and whatever tangible and intangible benefits America is reaping from the Iraq War, they have cost us and are costing us mucho mucho dinero.

Clinton signed the Banking Modernization Act, which of course led to the need for the TARP program, and he also signed NAFTA, which resulted in job losses to Mexico before China took those jobs from Mexico, made profits, and turned around and bought up US treasury debt. So we lost American jobs and are paying China money for the privilege.

And while Reagan said he believed in small government, he didn't practice what he preached and ran up a big debt during his two terms.

Which pretty much leaves George H.W. Bush in the clear. He actually got our allies in the first Iraq War to pay their share. Why exactly didn't he get re-elected again?

True, however the reality is sinking in. I was speaking with an acquaintance today of 25 years. We got to discussing the federal budget, etc. and eventually got around to healthcare, etc. Usually, I'd expect him to offer up some wry take on the 'talking points' of the day, but in this case, he just kinda shrugged things off with an "I don't know where things will go". Maybe it's because he'll be 65 in 6 months.

Maybe it's because some of the things he was taught somewhere along the way had actual fact-based information in them (he has a PhD) and he couldn't blindly ignore that much for that long. Regardless, he came off as being self-aware that he had made a huge mistake with his vote but not quite ready to openly admit it.

Why be embarassed for them? This ought to be a tremendous “teachable moment” for them for in the blink of an eye their whole view of the world changed without you having to say a word. I’m sure they impugned your judgment and are now avoiding any and all contact with you to avoid the embarassment they showered on themselves.

Be magnanimous and continue to smile and consistently point out the things you know to be right and those you know to be wrong. Eventually they will start to agree on smaller things and then one day you might be lucky enough to dicover they will start to ask your opinion rather than expressing knee-jerk scorn.

Trying to ramrod Cap and Trade by calling carbon-dioxide (the gas you and I exhale when we breathe, which all green plant life burns during photosynthesis, giving off pure oxygen in return) a”poisonous greenhouse gas"

Technically, CO2 IS poisonous, in sufficient concentration.

But then so are oxygen and nitrogen, and every other known substance.
