The ruins of Detroit, Mt. Clemens, Saginaw and Pontiac are all shooting sites.
I hope this one is more on the nose regarding gun control.

Detroit is a wonderful place to make movies, as long as you are filming a post-apocalyptic story.

Let me guess... instead of the Soviet Red Army, the “enemy” this time will be marauding evangelical, pro-life, pro-American Christians.

Nope, it’s the ChiComs, from what I heard. Want to bet though that the reason they invade is “climate change”?

It’s actually the Russians and the Chinese..but making the Wolverines into urban guerrillas just doesn’t work for me.

It makes more sense than the original in which all these foreign troops were stationed way out in the middle of nowhere.

I love the original movie, stilted uncomfortable dialog and all. I fear for the remake. I'm certain the crazy leftist mindset (genuinely absent from the original) will end up oozing out around the corners at least.

Perhaps, but give me a break......Detroit?????
On second thought, the movie doesn't have to identify it as Detroit and the already demolished buildings will save on the cost of explosives........and just throw around some smoke grenades.........brilliant!

Its not the movie set of Red Dawn,
Its Obamanana Dawn, where the story line takes a 2010 twist. The Reds have taken over the government, led by a tyrannical Marxist and his 43 czar shadow government, and its up to the people to take their government and land back.

I think it shows, at least preliminarily, that the movie “gets it” and is in keeping with the original.....a satire on modern politics.

My favorite exchange of dialogue, from the original:
Col. Andy Tanner: ...The Russians need to take us in one piece, and that's why they're here. That's why they won't use nukes anymore; and we won't either, not on our own soil. The whole damn thing's pretty conventional now. Who knows? Maybe next week will be swords.
Darryl Bates: What started it?
Col. Andy Tanner: I don't know. Two toughest kids on the block, I guess. Sooner or later, they're gonna fight.
Jed Eckert: That simple, is it?
Col. Andy Tanner: Or maybe somebody just forget what it was like.
Jed Eckert: ...Well, who *is* on our side?
Col. Andy Tanner: Six hundred million screaming Chinamen.
Darryl Bates: Last I heard, there were a billion screaming Chinamen.
Col. Andy Tanner: There *were*.

Hey, they could saved themselves a lot of money by just using Obamalama posters
Hmm, on second though those might be too Left wing to be credible.

a satire on modern politics.
A satire would imply some form of humor... in the form of irony, sarcasm, ridicule, or the like, in exposing, denouncing, or deriding a situation.
It could very well be we will be lucky if the movie comes out before hard reality takes the lead...
Obama snitch website
