Three dead candidates are on the ballot in November's general election in Washington County.
They include former incumbent mayors Alfred Agamedi, of North Charleroi, and Walter Wisniewski, of Bentleyville, who were running unopposed. Mr. Agamedi was 84 when he died Sept. 18, and Mr. Wisniewski was 86 when he died Sept. 24.

Isn’t Pittsburgh where The Night Of The Living Dead was filmed? Maybe Chilly Billy can run. He could get the dead-vote if runs as a liberal.

Too funny! Frankly, let’s run them in 2010 for Congress.

Sadly, if elected now, they might do less harm than when they were 'lively.' And I think we all know a 'seasoned citizen' (or three) who think our Senator is the guy that used to be Governor...

NOTLD was filmed in Evans City, just north of Pittsburgh. I listen to Chilly Billy on the radio during the week and he surprisingly leans conservative.

The third dead candidate is Robert Staley Jr., 42, a councilman in Coal Center. His father is council president and wanted his son's name to remain on the ballot as a tribute. This is irresponsible leadership.
Elections are a serious business; I do not care at what level of government.
This is peoples votes and taxes this councilman is talking about here. He has no right to turn an election in to a personal tribute to his son.

Why, I ask you, should a citizen be deprived of the sacred franchise which our forefathers so arduously attained for us and our posterity merely because he or she is respirationally challenged?

When there's no more room in Congress, the dead will run for local office.

3 dead candidates on Washington County (PA) ballotHmm, I wonder if we'll see an increase in the dead voter turnout around here. Interesting political strategy. :)
