The University at California, Davis is collecting over $ 2 million dollars in grant money to help with its forensic science projects.

A big chuck of that will help "develop a database of 10,000 bullets from Northern California crime labs."

Plus another big grant will be used to study Duct Tape.

The grant will "be used to help identify if torn pieces of duct tape.."

From link.

“Duct tape is often used to bind kidnap or murder victims, and remnants of tape can be recovered from crime scenes. At present, duct tape comparison is purely subjective”

I can think of a lot of things far wasteful that this.

Well, Duct Tape is one of the seven wonders of the world. Is there anything that can’t be done with Duct Tape? Inquiring minds want to know.

Duct tape is like The Force... it has a light side, a dark side and it holds the universe together.

I don't know whether it is best to spend federal money on the duct tape study or to get CBS to fund it for CSI:Des Moines, but at least it makes sense. I was expecting some idiotic sociological study on duct tape when I saw the headline.

Duct tape cannot loosen things that are stuck together. For that you need the second most important substance in the world: WD-40.

Duct tape is often used to bind kidnap or murder victims, and remnants of tape can be recovered from crime scenes. At present, duct tape comparison is purely subjective, the release states.

“We want to provide some statistics that prove a duct tape tear is unique,” Tulleners said.

No kidding and snowflakes are exactly alike.
