The Righteous Brothers had several other hit singles in 1965, including "Just Once in My Life", "Ebb Tide" and "Unchained Melody
A hard-to-beat classic!
They were the only white group that got air play on WWRL in Harlem in the 60’s.
Certainly one of their best, made even more famous by the movie “Ghost”, and then re-released.
Soul and Inspiration and then Lovin’ Feelin’ were, IMO, even better...iconic, in fact. But, the most fun song they ever did was thier first done as a duo, Little Latin Lupe Lu! Every girl we saw, we used to sing that to her. hahaha
BTW, why is it that every time I see a post linked to a song, I hit youtube and lose an hour...or so. LOL
Remarkable. Wonderful. Thanks for posting.
Do you remember the Al Hibler version? It was originally an instrumental, and was so popular, decided to make a redo with lyrics sung by Hibler, c. 1955. He had an amazing voice. And I DO love the Righteous Bros version.

but back to Unchained Melody - Al Hibler first sang it? - but I like the Righteous Brothers version best. If I had the proverbial nickle for every time I sang that back in the '50's, I'd have no money worries...
WOW !! Thanks. Haven’t heard that in years and years. Sure brought back some memories.
Unchained and timeless...
Thanks.
While we’re on Memory Lane - how about these

Al Hibler...wow...you remember him? Fabulous voice.
...I hit youtube and lose an hour...
Same thing happens here. Has anyone heard the Rightous Bros. version of White Cliffs of Dover? Can’t be beat.

and
this one I used to sing - and sing and sing when I was a little girl on the farm - in the ‘40’s!

and back to the 50’s - Ghost Riders in the Sky
Oh, I remember it... all brings back pleasant memories of a much better time in the USA, if I had known it would go to the dumper I would have taken more time to appreciate the era.
oh no - I forgot - it was Vaughn Monroe that did the first “Ghost Riders in the Sky”

What a fun night on FR**. Went to YouTub, watched those AND my all time fav, at least in those years, “Scotch and Soda” which still sounds pretty dang good. Sent the links to some old college friends who used to be co-singer/drinkers.
** nice diversion from eligibility
Remembering AL Hibler really dates me, doesn’t it ? oh, well!
last ones, I promise - now I’ll go to bed -
Loved this one as a little girl - actually, still my theme song.

My husband knew Bobby in high school. My husband Fullerton and his best friend went to Anaheim, Hatfield went to Anaheim and they all graduated the same year... those were good days to be a Californian.
yes - I didn’t realize these would be in youTube - I’m copying a list for playing over and over.
I’ll go to bed tonight remembering all those wonderful years as a little girl on my grampa and grammie’s farm.
betcha my memories (years) go back further than yours ;o)

okay - off to bed
8 track bump. Thanks!
Which makes me all the more sad to see what has happened to the state. There was no better place to grow up than SoCal in the 50’s and 60’s.
BTW talk about a blast from the past El Monte Legion Stadium!
My first year of High School was at Arroyo, right down the street from the “Legion”. You know I was late going home a lot. heehee
People ask me if I miss Cali. I say yeah, where’d they put it? Haven’t been back in over 10 years. Sad.
Dates me too. ;>))
I was always sorry that BobbyHatfield could not shake off his drug habit. We lost a great singer in him.
Mitch Ryder and The Detroit Wheels did it too. Yup, grew up in the Mobile area.
We’ve only been back for funerals.
