It’s not pretty, but it still tastes good. :)
Looks beautiful, and cold. My feet are swelling just thinking about the altitude! LOL!
Root crops do very well here, if you’re in the middle of the state and further north. Those dang glaciers left a goodly amount of sandy loam up there...they just left clay (and lots of lakes!) down here by me. ;)
My plants that I dug up and put in containers (eggplant and cherokee purple tomato) got caught outside on the back deck by a surprise cold night. Forcast low was about 40F, but actual was 27F. Eggplant was out on the deck away from the house by about 20 ft and was DRT. The tomato was next to the house by a window and got frozen back, but is coming out with new growth from the base. I have several varieties of tomato seeds that are supposed to be for colder climates that I will try next year. I will get them started early indoors and use black fabric to help the soil warm faster. I also want to try okra next year. The first year garden up here at 8500 ft elevation in the Colorado Rockies turned out much better than I expected. Thanks to all on this thread for helpful tips!
The altitude here is not too bad. I have climbed a mountain (Cerro Aconcagua) which is the highest peak in the Andes and is almost 23,000 ft elevation. Everyone in our party climbed without oxygen. We did not even have oxyen for emergencies. I lived in Florida at the time so my acclimation was sea level. We also climbed a difficult route, the Polish Clacier Route. The South Face Route is the only route that is more difficult. It was three weeks from start to finish and my weight went from 175 lbs to 150 lbs. The load carries were about 75 lbs and were usually 3,000 ft and two carries to establish the next camp. Now I complain and rub my shoulders after carrying 50 lbs of firewood inside!
Lovely! I am not so adventurous. I’ve been here:

I took the railcar up. I should probably mention I was 16 at the time and had a great fear of heights. LOL!
My feet swelled going up the road to Adelboden. I noticed my shoes were getting snug, so I kicked them off and could not put them back on until we had been there for a good hour or two.

Not too high. I’m not sure I’d be good mountain material. LOL.
