Here is security camera video from American Samoa that captures the Tsunami that came ashore there as the wave hits a parking lot area on September 29. You can see the tremendous power and force of the Tsunami as it sweeps into view, moving the cars in its path. This video was released by the FBI there. . . . (VIDEO)

It’s astounding when you see pix of cars being swept aside like that. In your mind you’re thinking that a wave would have to be up to the windows, certainly at least a couple of feet deep to exert that kind of force. Nope. Notice by looking at where the water comes up to on the tires of the cars how low the wave level actually is before the cars are moving, and with gusto. Pretty amazing.

Was it me or did I see two people walking to those cars that were eventually smashed up against that structure? Any word on thier whereabouts or how they are doing? I could swear I saw two people. Anyone else????

Yes. This is why Rush, who is right 99.9 percent of the time, was so WRONG in thinking a three-foot wave would be harmless — it came up because he was pretty skeptical of the guy walking on the beach in Oregon with his fiance when she was swept away by a “rogue” wave of three feet and was unable to save her. I was so amazed at how many FReepers were certain that he could have saved her if he’d just tried a little bit — they had no clue about wave dynamics — but boy, they were sure fast to self-righteously accuse a man of murder, when he was very probably totally innocent. It was revealing and ugly, how people would rather accuse a man of murder than admit their own huge ignorance and give more credence to people who actually knew the subject.

There are two people walking to those cars; wonder if the tape was edited before it was released.

The video is time lapsed.

You can’t see the time posted at the time the pedestrians are there but it is prior to 14:06.

The leading edge of the waves comes in at 14:18.

They were 12 minutes away at that point.

Whew. I’m glad I’m not the only one who saw that. We saw the tape yesterday and CLEARLY we did NOT see two people walking but in today’s video on the internet...they were there.

Oh boy...read your post and surely glad to know those two individuals were 12 minutes ahead of the wave. Thanks!
