No, I really hadn’t heard about this. I wonder if he was working on a boat? Otherwise, why would they be looking for him in the river. The barge workers sometimes fall into the river. I’ll let you know if I hear anything.

Jim, I like the “letter” at the head of this thread. That is the kind of thing that is hard to miss. The cute graphics are real easy to ignore. People need to be told what it takes to run this site. It is also my opinion that some freepers treat FR like a socialist organization. A few carry the load for the many. People ought to appreciate that you don’t allow advertising, which is what makes this the best site on the web for news. It is clear and uncluttered. Those who come here for news should treat it like a newspaper and pay a “subscription” fee. Drop a magazine, or one dinner out per month and help feed the gerbils that keep this thing moving. Surely 1,500 of us are real Freepers. If not, then we sure have a bucket load of trolls.

Nan I never thought of that......The news that I have been following never said anything about that...only that they have been searching the woods. His cell phone went dead....it could have went dead for one of two reasons....the battery died....or it went into water!! (Sorry, I forgot the Ohio also runs by Point too!)

Yep, right across the street from my house. The young man is still missing AFAIK. He does work on the river, but I think someone said he was not working when he vanished.

Morgana, I pulled this thread up to let you know that they found Ray Denny’s body. Apparently he had an accident, probably dodging a deer. A child found his Ford Explorer overturned in a ditch on Ripley Rd. He was talking on his cell with his sister when the connection went dead. That is most likely what happened. He either hit or dodged a deer and went over. Sad, but I’m glad they found his body.

thanks.....I am glad the family knows what happened. That is sad. Mason county has a lot of back roads....I know...I have been down some of them. It would be all too easy to go down one of them, try to dodge a deer and have an accident.

Actually.....one night, in Putnam county the deputy let me keep the baby buck. Poor fellow! I brag to hunters about that one....makes them mad.....they use all that high price gear...and I use my white Ford Ranger.

Thanks again Nan..........

You betcha we have some awful roads in Mason Co. We also have more deer than any place in WV. I’ve not heard that officially, but Mason Co. has the most farmland with lots of grazing room. The deer populate like rats here. You have to play dodge-deer every time you go out.
When are you going to take another stab at coming to see me? Please let us set a firm time and place so you don’t make the drive for nothing. Later

Putnam County would beg to differ with Mason on that deer population thing! Putnam is over run too!

Well.....when is the next time your club is having a meeting?
