Demonstrating the media never tire in coming up with new rationales to tout President Barack Obama's popularity, ABC led Monday night with a poll timed to the night before Tuesday's nine-month mark of the Obama presidency -- as if that's some kind of important anniversary, and spent as much time on how it found record low affinity for Republicans. Anchor Charles Gibson announced the President has a 57 percent approval rating, his rating rising for the first time since April. And only 20 percent of the country now consider themselves Republican. That is the lowest level of support in 26 years.
In perhaps the biggest surprise, Gibson suggested, 57 percent support one of the [health] plan's most controversial elements -- perhaps the most controversial -- a government-sponsored insurance option, though fewer than half those polled agree with Obama on health care as 45 percent approve of his plans for health care reform, 48 percent opposed.

Can’t believe ABC is showing ‘V’, as it is clearly an indictment against the Obama administration.

What planet is Charlie on???
Who did their polling, the DNC? Every legit poll I’ve seen lately has been quite the opposite...
Where was the BARF alert
Where are they coming up with these numbers? Every poll I’ve seen shows Obama falling in popularity and the healthcare plan getting less and less popular.
Remember ABC is owned by Disney - the people selling your kids into SERFDOM.
They make them up; knowing their brain-dead viewers will believe them because "they saw it on TV".
Would have to see the internal on this one to stop or contribute to the laughter.
Because they're disgusted with the Republican Party too, Chuck, over their liberalism. But you'll never report that.
No doubt. He makes it sound like the went from Republican to Democrat and that is not the case. As soon as the RNC cleanses itself of RINO and establishes their true conservative values again, the support will return.
When the Dems get wiped out in ‘10 we’ll see how “popular” their messiah is.
Do you really believe that only 2 out of 10 people consider themselves Republicans?
Strange isn’t it that the breakdown of who was polled isn’t shown on the PDF of the poll.
From the man who stated enough already, hmmmm
Patrick something tells me that the internals are of “Adults”.....do find it kinda amazing this poll comes out the day after the Washington Post endorses Crey Deeds for Virginia Gov. Knowing they do the polling with ABC. If I where a conspiracy guy I’d say they cooked it to make Obama look good going in to campaign for Deeds. Then again the media never ccooks polls their honest :)
I got total Hillary/Obama flashbacks, when in the preview scenes for “V”, they show the alien leader sitting down for a televised broadcast interview, and right before it starts coldly informs the reporter than no negative questions will be allowed.
Especially Hillary because I remember the numerous incidents when she was running for president where this occured. That interviews wouldn’t take place unless her & her handlers were able to vet all the questions in advance and inform the reporters which ones they would actually be allowed to ask.
And now you have Obama Q&A sessions after speeches were the press corps are provided the questions they are to ask him, and the pre-scripted answers are on this teleprompter.
Not sure what planet he is on, but I sure know what government ministry he is from: The Ministry of truth in Orwell's 1984.
Yup... and the Messiah’s lapdogs parrot his gospel.
I’m a conservative-not a republican, but I take every opportunity to make life more miserable for the friends of barry every day. Is that wrong? <sarc
