THE BOYS GO TO THE WWE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN AN ALL NEW “SOUTH PARK” PREMIERING ON WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 21 AT 10:00 P.M. ON COMEDY CENTRAL

NEW YORK, October 19, 2009 – After attending a WWE MATCH, the boys ALL WANT TO BE PROFESSIONAL WRESTLERS in an all-new “South Park” titled, “W.T.F.,” premiering on Wednesday, October 21 at 10:00 p.m. on COMEDY CENTRAL.

The boys have found their new calling in life and they hurry to sign up for the wrestling club. They soon find out THE KIND OF WRESTLING THEY TEACH AT SCHOOL IS not the same thing they saw at the WWE. The boy’s wrestling coach has the same problem. He’s been struggling for years to get people to see the difference.

This could be a sad episode for me. Brings up bad memories. I used to think pro wrestling was real...until that day in Junior High School in the early 80's when they came to our HS.

I saw up close and personal, Ivan Putsky, Junkyard Dog and it looked lame....it was then that I first realized that, that...OMG...I still can't even say it.

I went through the same thing when I was a kid. During a big pay per view event, a camera got too close to two wrestlers talking to each other while they were supposedly battling out in the ring. One of them told the other what he was about to do, and the other agreed. It was like when I found out there was no Santa Claus. I'd always suspected it, but there was hope he was real.... until I caught the REAL Santa. I haven't watched wrestling since I was a teen. I think it's a 'soap opera' of sorts for kids and adult rednecks. I'd rather watch South Park, which is far more 'real' than pro wrestling. lol

I never liked wrestling in HS.
When i finally had to wrestle i ended up breaking 3 ribs of on of one of the cool guys at school.
Turned out he had brittle bones.

Anyways....i’ll pass on wrestling.

I doubt it. If the Clinton/Bush years were any preview they seems to stay out of the politics side of things for the most part and rather focus on popular culture aspects that annoy them (ie them saying flat out that the Paris Hilton episode was specifically meant to tarnish her since they thought we needed to stop having little girls look up to her).

I’m not sure how I feel about this either.

I’m sure there will be a lot of moaning and groaning about how wrestling and the WWE are not the same.

After wrestling for most of my life, the sport is kind of near and dear to my heart. Usually when it ends up in tv and movies it is used as a punchline. One of my friends pointed out that it probably had to do with the kids who grow up to be tv/movie writers got beat up and had their girlfriend stolen by wrestlers.

With that said, of course I’m watching.

I used to hang out with a kid who was very good a wrestling.

He was about my size but....He could turn me into a crumbled piece of dough on command.
It was unreal the skills this kid had.

Must be a rite of passage. I had the same experience in Jr. High. I watched WWF every Saturday night. Hulk Hogan was my hero. It all came crashing down when I saw the same thing: both wrestlers talking to each other in the ring. More and more things came to light like the convenient timing of the ref being distracted or hit to miss the “face” pinning the heavy. I stopped watching it when I was 13. I have yet to watch it again. And I agree it seems like a male soap opera. I haven't missed it at all.

I’m a huge fan, as is my sister. Many years ago when SP was rather harmless and not too gross, we told our grama she should watch it. Yeah I know, stupid idea. Well, the episode my sister watched with Gram was the one where Jesus went into the boxing ring with the Devil. Not the best episode for a nice 80 something Christian grama to be seeing....needless to say Gram never watched SP again....

Hopefully someone spewed their drink on their keyboard after that embarassing story....if so, it was worth it!
