Well, I've come down with flu like symptoms and it's been 2 days of no fun.
My major symptoms are not what I'd call life-threatening, they are what I'd call annoying. I am experiencing:
1) Major back pain and body aches. Don't look at my back, it hurts. Need advil to lie down. 2) Exhaustion. I want to lie down. I don't care if it hurts.
My minor symptoms are: 1) Minor, not severe ear pain 2) Minor but gone almost immediately sore throat 3) Initial onset of headache, gone 1st night prior to other symptoms 4) Stomach quesiness but still hungry
No fever despite heavy aches, which I imagine are the results of the toxins building up in my system.
Drinking as much juice and vitamin C supplements as possible. Squeeze me and you'll get Florida's finest, it's quite possible I'm being stalked by Anita Byrant.
So what have any of you experience with the bugs out there this year?

My son had high fever and flu and 2 days later I started to feel like el crappo - like I have to leave work, etc. I started Tamiflu ASAP, took some Tylenol and was almost normal 24 hours later. Same conditions/situation for my wife and daughter.
Massive unbelievable headache, tightness in breathing, nausea vomiting.
Son and daughter;
Chills, fever, Painful cough,Temp, body aches, sore throat, sleepy.
On Monday, 15 area schools were closed due to flu/swine flu. Today, 49 are closed- completely unprecedented. All I know is I’m glad I’m not in school.
My niece had swine flu that went into double pneumonia. She was running a high fever, given tylenol by the hospital and sent home. She started vomiting was taken back to the hospital and was given an iv and sent home. Then she started turning blue. She was intubated and in ICU for 2 weeks. No one thought she would live. Was told if she had been given tamiflu immediately it would not have gotten severe. Thankfully she is on her way to recovery now!
You are showing the classic signs that I’m seeing over and over in my classroom and school.
The swine seems to start with a headache as the first symptom, then body aches, then a variety of coughs, fevers, sniffles, sore throats - any or all of those.
But the headache is coming to be known (at least in our school) as step one

We are using as a preventative but can be useful in battling the flu. Pandemic sites have links to many forums with suggestions for homeopathic treatments that might help her be more comfortable

I have a student in the hospital now in the exact same shape. It is very, VERY touch and go according to the mother. I haven’t gotten an update, but as of last night, she was asking for the priest to come.
None of us (grandparents, teenaged aunt here) got it, even though we took care of the two older children while the baby was in the hospital, and while one of those had symptoms.
Both my son and I were hit with some kind of flu last April and again in May. I hope we’re super resistant for this round.
We had fevers close to 103 which came down quickly after a dose of Motrin. Body aches and fatigue were incredible. It hurt to open my eyes. We both had chest congestion, but my son had it the worst. Mucinex finally loosened up the phlegm for him which made it much easier to breathe. We were both down for 5-7 days each time.

Once home, about 6:00 p.m. - tremendous chills... couldn't hold a cup steady and could barely climb the stairs. I think the neighbors heard my teeth chatter.
7:00 p..m - Put on 4 jerseys, 3 blankets on the bed and got in. Slept till 1:00 p.m. on Oct. 10.
Fine from there on.
First three days were bad, real bad. Typical flu symtoms, hot/cold flashes, fatigue, joint pain ... with a bad cough. Since I am an asthmatic, this lead to pneumonia. On the third day I had coughing so bad that the do said to go to the ER. The pneumonia verified with xray and was treated with anti-biotics. Tamiflu was added to reduce the flu symptoms. Vicodin was used to treat the pain from the cough (three days of hard cough will pull muscles in the rib cage).
Once on meds, took about 5 to 7 days to get rid of the stuff.
Left work at mid-day yesterday and called in sick today. Dealt with a cough for a few days (my office sounds like a TB clinic from various other sick people) but then the constant runny nose and sneezing started followed by aches, hot/cold feelings, and exhaustion. I’m thinking some downtime today will get me back on track.
My son was down for 8 days with a moist, productive cough, chest tightness, wheezing, earache, headache, fatigue. He tested negative for seasonal flu; swine flu test was not conducted. We used generic OTC guafenesin and dextromethorpan to thin secretions and an albuterol inhaler to relieve tightness. Lots of hot steamy showers, too. I kept a very close eye on his breathing; we were shades away from the ER a time or two, but he pulled through.
I saw one child (teen) who was so sick he could barely walk. High fiver 103+, headache, dizziness, nausea.
The Vit C is good but also recommended is upping your Vit D3. Add some cranberry and live yogurt cultures (pills or food), zinc and a good multi-vit. Also, start N-Acetyl-Cysteine and Oscillococinum which can be found over the counter at neighborhood pharmacies and larger grocery stores.

There were quite a few in the hospital in as bad or worse shape than she was in. All under 35. I know there is a lot of media hype but when you watch someone you love struggle to breathe, it sure is a different story! I won’t get the vaccination, but sure will try to get tamiflu immediately if I develop symptoms.
The day prior, I had with started a dry cough, and the cough (which was no longer dry) was really he only thing to linger after the one really bad day.
