I find this editorial incredible. The only people happy with the Massachusetts plan are the poor and the rich. All levels of the middle class are hurt by this plan.

You know, I have voted Democrat all of my adult life; but I'm starting to believe what some conservatives say about the mission of the Democrat Party being to completely destroy the middle class.

The bankers, industrialists, and corporate ceos all finnacially support the Democrat party, today, along with the great un-educated unwashed masses.

Who is going to stand up for the middle class worker or businessman? Never before did I think it was Republicans, and , today, it certainly isn't Democrats.

If someone steps outside the mainstream politics to punish the bankers and support the middle class, they will have my vote in a heartbeat, whether I find the candidate personally appealling ,or not; and regardless of Party. Recommended Recommended by 23 Readers

I am an anti-war, pro-gay rights, atheist, animal lover. But, until the government proves it control the costs on our present government programs like Medicare , medicaid, and social secuirty; I'll be joining the "tea-partiers" on their next round.

All of our major entitlement programs are basically insolvent. Is there one politician who is man or woman enough to stand up and tell the truth?

I feel like our entire government , the White House, and both Houses of Congress, are teenagers with stolen no-limit credit cards. This country is broke. Someone needs to start being honest so we can change existing programs before we create new programs. Recommended Recommended by 21 Readers

Krugman's article was what you'd expect - praising MA's shoddy healthcare system, etc. I usually read some of the comments to see what the moonbats are saying. These were the first two comments I thought were worth sharing. :-)

If the GOP wants to win, it will embrace these two issues - and then act on them. However, I don't see the GOP willing to go to the 'extreme' measures of telling the truth about the destruction of the middle class and the insolvency of entitlements. Because, quite frankly, the middle class has never widely held our political class to account - in either party. The only way we'll change government is to get the sleeping giant to awaken.

Of course it is. That's what made the Communist Party so successful for so many years in Russia. The Party apparatchiks got all the money, the power and the vacation homes and everyone else was basically poor. But at least they were all equally poor! Same as what the Democrats want for America.

Try telling that to the elites in academia—they feel their jobs are secure under Communism—I guess if anyone has money to attend. I don’t think enough taxes could be raised for free higher ed for all. Who will pay these overpaid leaches?

The first two comments were absolutely, definitely worth sharing. Very encouraging. Thanks so much. The Democratic Marxists are doing a lot to help us conservatives. We should thank them, somehow...

Social Security and Medicare have become the third rail of American politics. I think the government would best be served by phasing out these two programs, but I don’t see either party really trying to do that since the other will use the opposition’s attempts as a political tool.

I’m 31, but I’d be willing to cut my losses with both since it would be in the best interest of the country. Move the eligibility age back in accordance with the average life expectancy. If you knock down some of the real obstacles to affordable insurance (interstate barriers, lawyers, tax credits for businesses but not individuals), we can free ourselves from these back-breaking entitlement programs once and for all.
