"60 Minutes" did a fabulous exposé Sunday on Medicare fraud that should be required viewing for all people who support a government run healthcare program in this country.

The facts and figures presented by CBS's Steve Kroft were disturbing as were the details concerning how shysters bilk the system for an estimated $60 billion a year.

As Kroft warned viewers in the segment's teaser, "We caution you that this story may raise your blood pressure, along with some troubling questions about our government's ability to manage a medical bureaucracy."

But the fraud is more often than not conducted by a government certified “minority” that funnels big money to the Democratic party to ensure their “rights.”

Surprising that 60 Minutes raised this issue. They are normally a “government think-tank”.

The problem with Medicare is not only fraud. It is unsustainable and will bankrupt the country.

"I saw this segment. It was worth a watch, IMO."

I thought the two most sobering parts where the interview with the bureaucrat in charge of preventing Medicare fraud, who came off as incompetent and completely over her head, and the interview with the convicted Medicare fraudster. When he said that only 5% of the Miami-area medical supply companies were legit, it made my skin crawl.

If the fraud and waste were cases were not to abate when the government gets it's hands on 1/6th of the nations economy - and from this report, there's no reason to believe that those fraudulent claims would abate - the fraud could run well over $200 billion annually, which is much more than we've ever spent in Iraq in any single year.

Yeah that lady had absolutely no f***** clue. She should be embarrassed of herself. Even if you’re short on human resources, there’s no reason why NOTHING can be done.

Remember the woman who started noticing bogus charges on her Medicare statements back in 2003? Well, here it is SIX YEARS LATER and she said her CURRENT statements STILL have CURRENT bogus, ONGOING charges.

Totally unacceptable and sickening and 0bama wants to control health care?

Wow! I’m surprised that 60 Minutes ran a legitimate story.
