Redskins Family Loses a Member October 26, 2009

It is with extreme sadness that I must report that Jennifer Fritsch-Williams, who cheered for the Redskins between 2002 and 2006, passed away over the weekend due to medical complications from her pregnancy. Jennifer was a fan favorite and I always saw a smile on her face every time I saw her. She was a beautiful young lady and an even classier woman. Jennifer will be missed desperately. She is survived by her husband, Joe, their 2-year-old son, her parents and a host of relatives and friends. Expressions of sympathy can be sent to:

Joe Williams

4125 Gateway Blvd White Plains, MD 20695-3025

Karl and Sue Fritsch

12550 Van Brady Rd.

Upper Marlboro, MD 20772

Heaven has gained a real angel. Rest in peace, Jennifer. And thank you.

Thanks for the clarification. I know people are bugged out by the flu vaccine, and while there may be a good foundation for it, we shouldn’t contribute to it by attibuting side effects to someone who was not victimized by it.

(Not you...you got the right info out!)

Most unusual to die secondary to pregnancy or giving birth these days, although 200 years ago it was common. Either she got bad care or she had something VERY rare...sad either way....

Based on the way the notice was written, I do not think it was childbirth. They said “medical complications from pregnancy.”

when did free republic become an obit clearing house?

no offense but long before you logged on for the first time at FR. ;-)

historical records&archives have been lost from the old database era but the late 1990s is my best guess.

Obits have run the gamut from politicians, wives of politicians, the ‘elite’, mistresses, wrasslers to artists, writers, and comedians (of which there are very few truly funny ones left) .. and occasionally to our own and family, those being the saddest to read of all.

hope that helps.

Eclampsia would be my guess with seizures or kidney damage...but if that WERE the case, it would be unusual for someone like her not to have proper care. Still doesn’t make sense...

An academic neurologist observing the cheerleader speak on camera opined that her “nerve disorder” was psychosomatic not due to a flu shot.

No offense to Jennifer, but when did free republic become an obit clearing house?

An obituary can often be a launching point for a discussion of conservative principles. For example, about two weeks ago, I posted the obituary of Ignacio Ponseti. He's not a household name, but he was the doctor who revolutionized the treatment for club feet, one of the most common birth defects.

The reason I posted it was that Ponseti's ideas for treatment of club feet had been rejected for decades. They only gained acceptance because parents started talking with each other on the Internet and learning that Ponseti's method worked far better than the standard method. Doctor's were losing patients as parents took their babies to Iowa for treatment. In short, the free market worked.

Okay, I'm not sure any conservative principle can be found on this thread, but in many cases, obituaries tell a story that is worth telling.

I live in a Maryland (and just found out that they will ticket you for parking a legal car on your grass)

What about refrigerators, car seats, and pink flamingos?

Sheesh, ya can't even be a redneck in this state anymore!

I assume that the baby also died?

Either way, prayers definitely go out to her family.
