"The grass roots of the conservative movement just claimed a scalp before anyone even voted," said Republican strategist Mark McKinnon, a former senior adviser to President George W. Bush and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.). "The conservative movement is alive, well, kicking hindquarters and taking names. And if you don't measure up, look out."

New rule - RINOS loose. Just say no. Voting for the lesser of two evils just isn’t getting us anywhere.
Sorry, RINOS lose.
** ... kicking hindquarters and taking names.**
In which case, to the author of this quote... Juan McLAME had better find some CAST IRON UNDERWEAR!!
I LOVE IT!!
Bold, unapologetic Constitution-abiding conservative BUMP!!
It won’t be long and we will be scalp hunting in Fla.
We are coming for you too...Crist.
You can bet every RINO is taking notice. Their worst fear, and that of the Blue Dogs, is to have Sarah Palin endorse their opposition, worse yet, that she show up in their district in 2010.
‘bout damn time too.. Time to kick some Rockefeller Wing butt!!
I really enjoyed that article too.
If Sarah really worked at it I could See her taking at least 30 Blue Dogs and putting them to sleep next year.
Damn right, Rubio is gonna whip that RINOs ass in the primary!!
I loved the part where the “conservatives got a scalp before a vote was even cast”. I savored those words.
I guess the WaPost hasn't heard about the election in California. Some fact checking!
No pale pastels, only bold colors, to use the expression of Ronald Reagan.
We don’t need a RINO when we have a Communist White House!
RINOs and BlueDogs are political cowbirds. Kicking real conservatives out of the nest and staling their place and sustenance.
McCain Adviser Won't Fight Obama
Keeping Vow on Obama, McCain Adviser Resigns
McKinnon also thinks we're all "right-wing nutballs" and "freaks."
GOP Sees Protest As an Opportunity
Mark McKinnon, a former adviser to Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) and other Republicans, said there is an "opportunity for Republicans" to tap into legitimate fears about an overreaching federal government. But he said that "right-wing nutballs are aligning themselves with these movements" and are dominating media coverage.
"It's bad for Republicans because in the absence of any real leadership, the freaks fill the void and define the party," McKinnon said. "
“It wont be long and we will be scalp hunting in Fla.
We are coming for you too...Crist.”
Yep, we’re taking no prisoners either...NEXTTTTTTTTTTTTT!
Too bad that few of my fellow FReepers would say that before the 2008 election....back then all that mattered was having an (R) by a candidate's name. It blows my mind that they would support someone like Juan McCain.
I hope McCain was the last straw.
yes he is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You have to have Conservatives run in the primary or otherwise you end up with McCain. All we had was a bunch of odious liberals, like Huckster and Slick Willard (or kook Libertarian-Paleos like Paulie).
I supported Paul 110%. Since he didn’t win the nomination I voted for Pastor Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party. IMO, the GOP would be a much more respectable party if more people like the honorable Rep. Paul would run for office.
I am not a McKennon Fan. He seemed to state the fact, not a spin. I know who he is... A RINO consultant.
Quite true.
Read the last two paras of the story, on page three...
Love the song. But where’s the pic of Ms. Bachman?
I did. Did I miss something better than the “Scalping” paragraph?
Who was the moron who said that conservatism was dead?
No..both were good quotes...but the lady at the end..well, she’s what we have to do acros the country..
McKinnon also th, as nks we’re all “right-wing nutballs” and “freaks.”
He had better get used to the show. It’s just beginning.
Who knows... The folks in AZ may have had their fill of McCain, as well.
You’ll excuse me if I take extreme exception to that. Somebody whose position on foreign policy is identical to Dennis Kucinich’s I find patently offensive. Dr. Demento is a joke and a threat to our national security, not to mention a senile loon, and I say that with all due respect.
I just e-mailed the article to my state GOP.

Say hello to Shorty.

NY-23 Polling Odyssey
So this morning around 10 AM I started up our NY-23 poll and after a few hundred interviews it appeared that Doug Hoffman was now running away with it-unweighted numbers showed him at 45% to 26% for Bill Owens and 17% for Dede Scozzafava.
Then came the news that Scozzafava was suspending her campaign. My first inclination was to just keep running the poll as is, but I stopped it and thought about it, and now for the rest of the weekend the first question will still provide Scozzafava as an option but also note that she’s suspended her campaign, although her name will still be on the ballot.
I’m not going to throw away the first set of interviews, but we’ll provide a crosstab for when people got surveyed. I expect Hoffman will win easily now, but if our early numbers were any indication what Scozzafava did doesn’t make much difference- he was going to win easily with or without her in the race.
I should also note that the poll included two way races between all three of the candidates as well so we will have full straight up Owens-Hoffman data for whatever that’s worth.
More excitement so far today than I might have been anticipating!

Most supported Sarah Palin. - Too bad that McCain didn't even want to win!
It was our party to begin with! All we’re doing is eliminating hijackers.
McKinnon is so typical of the political class in Washington. They have no principles. They are just maneuvering to get better positions of influence for themselves. The Republican establishment elites that rule the Party (for now) are almost entirely made up of these useless twits. McKinnon, Steven Schmidt, Ed Gillespie, Michael Steele, etc. are all part of this mix. They are soooo out of touch with the average American and Republican voter.
Good for him for realizing ~ now MORE need to realize they’d better get with the program and STICK with the program. Juan McLaim better look out if anyone that is truly conservative chooses to go up against him...
I myself have a few differences of opinion w/ the good Dr. (for example, he opposes the death penalty while I believe that it isn't used nearly enough as it should be; he also supports term limits & I don't)...but I think the reasons for his differences w/ me are legitimate & I'm not going to insult him like so many other FReepers do because of it. I TRUST Rep. Paul, I admire him, & I respect him for his honesty & commitment to principle.
“I’m a Ronald Reagan Republican,” she added, “and we don’t need another wishy-washy, let’s-be-like-the-Democrats candidate.”
Me too! RINO’S BE GONE!
First time I saw this man was as a teenager on Morton Downey, Jr. I was a fresh convert to the GOP (at least after waking up to the public school brainwashing), but I couldn’t believe what I saw. A pro-drug moonbat who blasted Reagan. At least in those days he couldn’t claim senility (he was around 52 or so). I couldn’t believe the guy was a Republican, certainly no Republican I’d admire - and he wasn’t, he was a Libertarian. Having dealt with the militant, hard-core, pro-drug Libertarian types, I had zero use for them and their fascist tactics in shutting up those who’d oppose their efforts to bring legitimized chaos to our society.
It was no surprise to see he was one of these 18th century isolationist kookburgers for which the advent of the airplane (or to the point, people flying airplanes into our buildings) seems perpetually lost on him. Kucinich is an anti-war moonbat (and by all accounts, a de facto isolationist, or surrenderist), Paul is an open isolationist, withdraw from all conflicts type, however they reach their conclusions, they both are a threat to our national security and give carte blanche to other terrorists and America-haters around the globe. Whereas Kucinich would probably openly surrender our country to the haters, Paul might come around to doing something once we’re surrounded on all 4 sides - might. By which time it matters none, because when you’re surrounded as such, you’ve already lost.
But I won’t get into his other hypocrisies, such as his claiming to be anti-pork, anti-this, anti-that, and yet doesn’t hesistate to get them nice “skrimps” subsidies for his district. He’s 74, and now he’s just plain senile to go with the moonbat. Not a good combo. I used to think for a time it was cute and amusing to have at least one Libertarian in Congress, nothing wrong with just the one. But with 9/11, it was no longer cute and funny anymore. We have to deal with real-live threats, and this guy is fighting battles that were lost eons ago. Isolationism ? Fail. Gold standard ? Is that even important ? Sorry, guy.
