JA Happ should have been in the postseason rotation for the Phillies.

... and they just hit Damon in the head with the throw home. Those just might be the only hits the Phillies get tonight;)

Why would he intentionally hit him in the 4th game of the World Series when there’s already a guy on base? Blanton just isn’t good.

I’m a Phils fan, but I’m not so sure they can come back...

And, the wussification continues with warnings to both benches after. Based on what? Did any of these fat a_ _ umps ever play the game?

Now, after back-to-back doubles swinging from their heels, Bob Gibson or Don Drysdale would put the next guy on his can. Can’t, though. Been warned.

The Phillies should consider moving Ryan Howard down a slot or two in the lineup for game 5 but I doubt they’ll do that.

Absolute garbage to warn both sides.

When one player is hit three times during the same series something is rotten in Denmark.

Looks like MLB is going the same route as the NFL, the commissioners think they are running an elementary school...

“Why would he intentionally hit him in the 4th game of the World Series when there’s already a guy on base?”

It sets up the double play with a slow Posada coming up and one out. Until the umpires put a stop to it by threatening to eject their pitcher, the Phillies won’t walk Arod intentionally — they’ll just hit him.

Or...they thought it’s easier to get A-Rod out by pithing inside and Blanton missed his spot. A-Roid is a big boy, he can take it.

““The Phillies should consider moving Ryan Howard down a slot or two...”

Nah ... he makes above league minimum and might force our owner to spend more than $2.98 on the team. We’d just trade him for prospects so that we can have a championship caliber team sometime this century. Most teams like having talent ... the Pirates like to trade it away once they get something that resembles it. See the Pirate’s Aramis Ramirez trade to the Cubs ... we simply wanted two rocks and a bucket of AIDS returned to us in that deal.

The Yankees LHP is really giving the Phils left handed batters problems.
The Phils need more from Howard, Ibanez and Utley although Utley did deliver in game one.
GO PHILS!!
KEEP DIGGING!!!

Would a hit with runners on base be too much to ask for?

Of course watching this series brings much angst and anger with all the ex-INDIANS on both rosters(coaches/managers included).

I guess with the hometown team being in the dumps now, I’ll have to resume my loyalities to the Mets which allows me to root for the Phillies to win.

That being said, it’s been an hour since and Ryan Howard still didn’t come close to touching the plate. The umpiring in this whole postseason has been awful, period.

Phillies have to get this somehow. A 2-2 series with Cliff Lee on the mound is a very good thing......

Where have you been? Haven’t seen ya on the NFL threads....

“Gonna be tough - I mean we’re already guaranteed at least one game back in NY...”

Well, the Phils are a good road team and I don’t think they’re intimidated by NY (which I think Angels may have been). I think the thing is they just don’t have the pitching beyond Cliff Lee.

I was honestly happy with another pennant. I didn’t even expect that considering the bullpen issues and last season’s exhausting run.
They’ve got a a couple real good players in their minor league system-including Doug Drabek’s kid so hopefully they continue their success.

And, yeah, the umpires have been awful throughout the playoffs.

Joe doesn't know if he's right or wrong. It's a National League park; you have to play real baseball there. Nine guys play the field, nine guys bat. You don't pull the pitcher when you feel like it.

It's why I'm a National League fan.
