Texas only jumped because they beat Ok St and Alabama had an off week. Texas still has to play Texas A&M, but it looks like they have a clear shot to the Big 12 championship and then on to the BCS title game. The Big 12 north is weak so the conference championship game won’t be a big challenge (they’ll likely play Kansas St).
The Florida v Alabama game will likely decide who plays Texas in the title game.
It’s GREAT to be a GATOR!
>> I though interesting to see Texas jump ahead of ‘Bama
You must not have seen the way they took apart OK State. If you did, you wouldn’t wonder why my ‘Horns moved up.
But you were probably watching Oregon pop the Trojans.
Say... what happened to USC? They forgot to Duck.
The real fun comes if LSU beats Alabama this weekend.
Understatement of the year. LOL!!! The Big 12 north has ZERO teams in the BCS top 25.
HOOK’ EM !!!!!!!!!!
I am a Big 12 fan, but the SEC is the strongest I have seen for sometime. Florida very impressive, not just with the Tebow offense but holding LSU to 3 points—Wow! Go Tigers—either Missouri and/or LSU.
I did see the Ok State Vs. Texas. Very impressive. The computers loved the win because Texas went from 5th on the computers to a tie with ‘Bama for 3rd.
Amen...and what about that field goal (not to mention Tebow overcoming Walker’s record.) It was a good day!
I agree, and LSU could well beat Alabama. That’s the way the SEC is. Seems like TV has decided SEC plays ball, I don’t ever remember so many SEC games on free TV before.
I am less than 15 miles from the Swamp, life long Gator fan.
I spent time at both LSU and UF. It would be amusing to see a rematch of those two in the championship game. If the offense shows up for LSU, it might even be a good game.

The funny thing is, Texas moved up in the BCS not on the strength of the computers, but because of a significant jump in the Harris poll component. ‘Bama retains a slight but insignificant lead in the USA Today coaches poll component.
What’s more, ‘Bama and Texas are actually tied at number THREE in the BCS computer models... behind Iowa!
What a convoluted system.

Boise State V. Florida for the BCS championship.
Geaux Tigers! Beat the red tide.

Not gonna happen. Wouldn't be prudent at this juncture.
I know. They screw the small conference schools each year, it seems.
The Alabama-Florida game will likely decide the National Championship.
I’m a Gator too! Class of 1982!
On the other hand, what if LSU beats Bama. Now does LSU control their destiny for the Title game?
I’ve been waiting all year for Stanzi to have a meltdown. Great to see it all happen at once, and then to recover the way he did. Don’t think he’s ever going to have a confidence problem after that showing.
While neither Boise St nor TCU belong in the national championship title game this year, I would love to see them face each other - both as at-large berths in a BCS game. They should BOTH qualify for an at-large bid, even if it means that one of the BCS conferences doesn’t get to send its second place team.
That is a great question. I am going to assume Texas wins out. If LSU beats Alabama and Florida in the SEC title game will that be enough to jump over the 4 other undefeated teams (assuming they also win out): Cinn, Boise State, TCU and Iowa to play Texas. For me yes but you know Orin Hatch will blow a gasket.
If Oregon goes the rest of the season undefeated and Boise St does the same, I’d argue that Boise State deserves to be in a title game over any team with a loss.
How’s this for wierd?
11-1 Texas vs 12-0 SEC Champ for BCS championship. Texas wins. 11-0 Cinci plays 11-0 Boise St.
Do you give the championship to Texas or Cinci?
No, they didn’t forget to “duck”. Someone put a pinhole in their . . . oh, never mind.
Or Boise, when they blow away Cincy? LOL. I don’t know. Should be some good bowl games this year though.
The one thing that would be in LSU's favor is that they avenged their only loss.
I think TCU is the most impressive of the non-SEC, Texas unbeatens.
It was amazing that Kirk didn’t pull him in the 3rd quarter.
I’m tempted to get tickets for the TCU-Utah game. That should be a classic, if it’s anything like last year’s game.
Oregon didn’t just beat USC. They dismantled them. It was embarrassing. 600 plus yards of offense against USC. Amazing.
There’s not a college defense in this country that can stop Oregon’s offense and I thought their defense was the best part of their game.
These last 3 or 4 games will be very interesting. Still a lot of unbeaten teams.
The lesson for USC is, don’t comprise your whole team of five-star recruits who will head for the NFL before they even get to their Junior year.
Maybe the mighty Ducks will see the BS Broncos again in a bowl?
I think if Texas loses one of the other perfect teams, assuming one of them wins out, will play an undefeated SEC champion.
BCS sucks...get a 4 team playoff done which is one extra game...1 plays 4, 2 plays 3. Winners play each other for the championship. Why is this simple yet so difficult for these BcS’ers?...
With Oregon top of the Pac-10 they will most likely play Iowa or Penn State in the Rose Bowl, since the Rose Bowl has a fetish for continuing the Pac 10-Big 10 match up. Of course if remaining the unbeatens lose who knows.
I missed the first match up of the year.....the Ducks still have to beat the Beavs which is always a monumental task ;)
I would die laughing if the Beavs take the “Civil War”!
I believe the BCS championship is going to played at the Rose Bowl....I could be wrong.
When it comes to the Civil War, I would never bet against the Beavs. They become possessed.
It’s the same when Texas and A&M play, throw out the records, anything can happen in that game.
Each top ten team should be required to play at least two other top ten teams during the preseason.
It’s stupid that the dominate teams have these cream puff schedules to garner them X and 0 records.
Then we’d see who is really the good teams and who are just coasting until the post season.
Texas beat OSU without their best WR, and Alabama did not play. Texas should be #3. Iowa #4 and TCU #5.
I hope you aren't referring to this schedule:
VPI
Ole Miss
Tennessee
LSU
Auburn
Florida (if Florida makes it)
That’s right. Regular Rose Bowl most likely Oregon vs. Iowa then the BCS Championship game.
How’s this for wierd?
11-1 Texas vs 12-0 SEC Champ for BCS championship. Texas wins. 11-0 Cinci plays 11-0 Boise St.
Do you give the championship to Texas or Cinci?
Better yet, make it a 8 or 16 team playoff - cut one of those cake-walk division II games out of the early season schedule. They can still have their precious bowl games, just not all on one day - spread them out and make them the playoff rounds.
I hope Cincy and Boise St are the only unbeatens at the end - I'm for anything that throws the whole BCS into chaos (even though I'm a Vandal and hate Boise St with a burning passion).
“I’m one Hawkeye fan who does not believe Iowa should be in the top 10. “
They got very lucky in the UNI game.
