Palin, Tea Party Protesters 'Driving Moderates Out of GOP'
Newsbusters.org ^ | 11-03-09 | Matthew Balan

Posted on 11/03/2009 1:03:27 PM PST by Justaham

On Monday’s AC360, CNN’s Anderson Cooper forwarded the media’s new talking point about the New York 23 congressional race, that “Tea Party protesters and other conservative voices are...driving moderates out of the GOP.” Correspondent Tom Foreman continued on this note, stating that “angry conservatives...[are] forcing the party to choose between...its base and attracting more moderate Americans.”

Cooper led the 10 pm Eastern hour of his program with the question, “Does the Republican Party have room for moderates?” The anchor outlined that “state and local elections tomorrow may have profound national effects, and President Obama and Sarah Palin are a big part of it. Two governor’s races may test the President’s ability to get others elected or turn into a referendum on his presidency.” He continued with the media’s new spin on the electoral contests, as if it was a matter of fact: “As for Sarah Palin, she, Tea Party protesters and other conservative voices are front and center, driving moderates out of the GOP.”

Where are the moderate Dems? How liberal can you be and still be called a moderate by any stretch of the imagination? How come only the GOP has to reach across the aisle?

Questions you’ll never hear asked in the MSM.

So just for the record, someone who values life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness is a far right radical. If you are a pro homosexual, pro-abortion supporter you are a “moderate.”

The media keeps pushing that line, but its largely utter bullcrap. I’d say that few conservatives have a problem with a true ‘moderate’.

The ones getting booted aren’t moderates, however. They’re a bunch of flaming liberals.

I honestly believe that if we did drive all the “moderates” (actually liberals) from the party, enough conservatives that have become disgusted with the republican party and simply sit home or vote 3rd party on election day would come back to the fold to make up for any “moderates” we might lose.

***We are not going to drive them out...we are going to VOTE them out.***

Well put!

There are only about 300 GOP elected officials in the US Congress. It is not a matter of driving them anywhere - it’s a matter of persuading better citizens to run for office and more importantly, persuading common sense voters to elect those that best REPRESENT US.

The Meme Machine is working overtime.

This must be the fifth such story I've seen emerge from the mainstream media in two days.

The Democrat political operation is now run directly from the White House and this is their latest gambit: "Oooh, Republicans are moving so far to the Right... they're gonna scare off all of the "moderates", and that would be such a shame..."

Bullsh!t.

The Obama Administration is the most left-wing, radical administration in our nation's history. Is anyone in the media vocalizing their concern that the Democrats are "scaring off the moderates"? Yeah, sure. Nice try, Rahm; better luck next time, David. Not really though: try peddling it to your ACORN crazies; most Americans aren't buying what you're selling.

For those of you who are bad at math, if the moderates are driven towards the DNC, from the GOP, the DNC wins numerical supremacy.

Liberals and "Moderates" vs. "Tea Partiers and Palin" - It's the difference between believing that 1) individuals are slaves to government, or 2) believing that government is the servant of the people.

Now, which position is like to win the most votes if understood in those terms.

If the moderates are driven to the Dem’s it least it separates sheeps and goats so that TRUE undecideds have a chance to see an unobfuscated difference between conservatives and the rest. Moderates are just like those who are neither hot nor cold...so let’s spit them out!

Look, I think most conservatives are fine as long as they stick to these four pilars:

1. Pro-life

2. Pro-2nd Amendment

3. Pro Constitution and adherence to (including fiscal restraint)

4. Strong national defense

But when two or more of those are ignored, its time for a change. And when all four are trashed, well, if my foot is planted on your behind, so be it.

These so-called moderates have trampled all of those time and time again.

Its time for them to go where they belong- the Democrat party.

Rush covered this topic extensively and as usual with wit and wisdom.

As an aside, coming from someone who has been around, has an MBA and consider myself rather intelligent, Rush has way of making complicated issues seem simple and his manner and grasp of knowledge is something that never ceases to amaze.

Anyway it is the Demo-Rats and their corrupt sycophant media which continues to instruct us on how we need to be organized, i.e., the "Big Tent" Philosophy; how we are not “inslusive” enough and if we continue to exclude moderates (read RINO’s) we will forever be the minority party.

RIGHT! As if they really care! If your opposition is doing something which is harmful and will contribute to their demise, you get out of the way and let them commit suicide and don’t try and correct their behavior.

Likewise, he also made mention again of who the Dummy-Crats fear the most by how much they attack them, principally, Sarah Palin.

So all and all, when the bottom-feeding Leftists criticize us and offer guidance, we can rest assured they are worried and what we are doing, we need to re-double our efforts and ignore their phony advice.

As an aside, I don't see the Dems practicing the same "Big Tent" approach and I keep asking this question of every lib I talk to but never get an answer: While there are many, many RINO's why are there NO DINO's???

You just have to remember; Whenvever and whatever a Democrat talks about anything, he/she is LYING. If they tell you what they are doing, then they are really doing just the opposite. If they name a bill, such as the Fairness Doctrin”, then it is just the opposite. If they tell you what you need to do survive, then you need to do just the opposite. They are LYING, always LYING.
