Rest in peace, Lance Corporal Baker. May your family take comfort in the nobility of your sacrifice.

In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,
While God is marching on.

Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
While God is marching on.

He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
He is Wisdom to the mighty, He is Succour to the brave,
So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of Time His slave, Our God is marching on.

Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Our God is marching on.

Thank you, Pontiac.

The picture makes my heart hurt. Been doing a lot of praying for this family. Picture makes you wonder if it does any good.

Even if it doesn’t help them, it helps you.

May EVERYONE see the image of the grief that these two share with each other and feel some measure of it themselves. The sacrifice these young men and women make is immensely more valuable than ANYTHING Washington could offer us.
