I am an Indians/Reds Ohio baseball fan. Just like President Bush was a Rangers/Astros guy. You can get away with it in a “football state”.

The 1997 World Series broke my heart.

The Indians were 3 outs away from winning game 7.

Yep. But for both teams. It usually shrinks for the WS. That IMHO is why Atlanta had so much trouble in the WS. Their pitchers got outside/inside calls during the year and could not cope when the umps tightened the strike zone in the WS. I really want K-Zone for strikes and balls and replay for questionable calls. I saw a ball so far outside the other night, the Titanic could have sailed between the ball and the plate. I am not terribly mad at the umps it's just that we have the technology necessary to get it right almost 100% of the time so why not use it. And yes I realize that not everything in BB can be reviewed because of the game dynamics but what can be done should be done. GO YANKS!!!

The Yankees made a big mistake taking Melky Cabrera off the roster. He is the most underrated player on the team, and often provides the spark they need to win.

Joe Buck’s Father was one of the best. I don’t think any announcer was a good as him doing football on the radio.o

Quite the opposite. I can’t figure out what strike zone their is for the Yankees. They showed two pitches to Jorge Posada that were several inches outside AND low.

I have a trivia question for everyone (and this is a question which is appropriate for Free Republic). When was the last time the Yankees lead a World Series 3-2 and lost the last two games of the World Series at home?

I tried listening to the ESPN radio announcers and thought they were great. But here’s the problem. Fox is delaying the televised baseball game about 50 seconds before they broadcast the show. Thus the radio call is always 50 seconds before the video action.

The SOBs at Fox Broadcasting are probably doing that on purpose so we can’t listen to the radio broadcast while watching the game. I can’t listen to Joe Buck, so will just forget about the game tonight.

A trivia question for everyone. When did the Yankees lose a playoff series when they had a 3 - 0 lead in a best of 7?

If the Yanks didn’t pull it off tonight, I’d be seriously worried that the Phillies probably would be able to come back and take game 7 also!

Anything can happen. The Phillies are a good team. They’d be facing Sabathia for the third time in 8 days and on short rest. That doesn’t seem to bother him, though. However, the Phillies have next to nobody to pitch, and they’ve mentioned bringing Cliff Lee out for some time on two days rest.

It’s been a good series.

Has been a good series! I doubt big time that the Phillies will be able to do it tonight, though..

Beat the Yanks at home during the world series?
They did it game one, but not gonna happen again!

Cliff Lee and the Yankees offense being catatonic did that.
