I swore off Scotch for the same reason. The only time I touch liquor is camping trips and when I have a cold.

Thats right! Unless you quaff mead instead of sipping it like whiskey!Mead is a quaffing drink, usually out of a horn. Hangovers are a rehearsal for Ragnarock.

I prefer Western Isles whiskey.

My father swore that apricot brandy was the best for a cold, and I tend to agree. I've never been a fan of cordials, but apricot and peach brandy both seem to go down smooth.

I live in Alcorn County, Mississippi. Any whiskey over a couple of months old is suspect. Hours old corn whiskey is a treat.

Try Irish. It’s smoother and you won’t smell so bad the next day.

When liberals are a cussin’ me out and ask; “What kind of man are you?”. I tell them “I’m a whiskey man!”.

I mix it with lemons and sugar. Rock and Rye works best. All you need is the lemons.

And Buffalo Trace Bourbon in a nice (homegrown fresh) Mint Julep on a hot summer day, under a shady tree is just the ticket. May have to develop a winter julep recipe...

Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum, mixed with an equal amount of Red flavor Powerade, over ice.

Truly the breakfast of champions.

But surely one of the conservation team has been tempted to open a bottle?
"No," said Fastier. "It's better to imagine it than to taste it. That way it keeps its mystery."

What a weenie. I wonder if he was born without balls, or had them snipped off later in life?

I would have at least had one taste of that old Scotch!

Hey, I used to love Elijah Craig. And Maker's Mark. I'm still an official Maker's Mark Ambassador. Even had a barrel at the distillery with my name on it. I had an offer I passed up to come there and hand-dip two bottles out of it.

My 2008 New Years resolution was to drink no whisky, ever again, under 12 yrs old.

I tried that once.

But then I realized I was well past 12...
