As Larry Johnson nears the Kansas City Chiefs' all-time rushing record, more than 10,000 fans have signed an online petition pleading for team officials to deactivate the running back after he posted homosexual slurs on his Twitter account.
The petition which has garnered 10,716 signatures as of early Thursday calls on general manager Scott Pioli to act before Johnson, 29, surpasses running back Priest Holmes for the team rushing record.
"We are asking you, as fans of this team, this organization, and of the pride that this city has in the Chiefs, please deactivate Larry Johnson," the petition reads. "Please do not let his name sit atop the all-time rushing leaders in Kansas City Chiefs history. He needs a mere 80 yards to surpass Priest. He doesn't deserve that opportunity."

Wait a minute. How many gays actually watch football?
He shouldn’t lose his job over it. No one should unless they are threatening someone else.
Only the gay women. I’m sure most signers aren’t fans. They
are just trying to intimidate anyone who makes a comment they don’t like.
All the pitchers and catchers who play baseball.
I heard they tried to field a team once, but gave up on the idea becuase nobody wanted to be the Tight End.
Interesting. These bizarre groups move like a choreographed ballet.
PC run amok...
Cheat, slaughter some dogs, do some ‘roids, beat up your girlfriend or rape a woman; no one cares - but make some gay slurs and the hammer comes down.
That was my first thought. I can't believe that many of these ninnies watch F-ball. The NFL should tell them to bake a cake.
Anyone remember the homosexuals mantra, we just want to exist without bothering others; now look at the homosexual identity and their sympathizers; telling people what to think, say and do. Then demanding special privileges, laws, and EEOC protection. Well arent they so special. Not just in being mentally ill or unconstitutional, believe now they are exempt from natural forces of reality keep it up for your return with interest.
“10,000 fans”
If it is an online petition, how do they know that they are fans?
Does “astroturf” come in a shade of pink?
I thought there would be plenty....wouldn’t they love piling on?
Behave citizen.
Can’t allow that kind of divisive attitude in the NFL, right Mr. Goodell?
Taggart: I hired you people to try to get a little track laid, not to jump around like a bunch of Kansas City faggots.
Where the hell is it chiseled in stone that I have to approve of anyone elses’ choices or say I do. To hell with gays or any other panty waist PC’s.
Could be worse for him, I mean...he could be a dittohead, you know? Then they’d have to clap his scrotum between two heavy bricks, maybe. And THEN fire him...!
They'd prefer being Wide Receivers?

Antoine Marryweather: Ok, now, you're going to be the center. So take this ball, bend over and I'm going to walk up right behind you and put my hands between your legs.
Blaine Edwards: OOOH! I think I may have played this game before!
What a bunch of pansies!
Chiefs fans need to start a counter-petition. STAT!!
Nor the wide receiver. sd
Really? A 20-something professional football player tweets something insensitive with a cynical slant and he should be fired from his job for it?
First, he is not important enough to waste the energy to care about what he “tweets.”
Second, he is allowed to say anything he wants without being threatened. It’s free speech. If this dimwit came out and “tweeted” that he hates Jews, Catholics, women and blacks, he should not be fired.
That said, he is in the limelight and is responsible for his own actions and rebukes. But let’s not waste energy to try and get a guy fired because someone from a street in NY is offended.
10,000 homosexuals all wee-wee-d up.
You could have shortened that post by a sentence. I winced reading it and am now feeling a little ill.
Men in tight, spandex pants constantly bending over?
Dude ... the question answers itself!
Do they want to sack him for anti gay slurs, or just for being an all around jackass with a history of saying stupid things and getting in trouble with the law? And yes actually what he says on the internet should have effect on his professional career. Remember he started off with publicly insulting his coach on the net, then he went after a fan on the net, and then he want after a reporter in person; if you spent the weekend publicly insulting your boss, a customer and a member of your industry’s press you’d probably get in trouble too.
“Wait a minute. How many gays actually watch football?”
Are you kidding? Have you been living in a cave. Don’t you know that action between the center and the quarterback at the beginning of a play is a turn on?
Just kidding. Carry on.
Once again the “love that dare not speak it’s name” won’t STFU!
How can one slur a vile ,deviant behavior?
Oh, it is spoken way too much, that which it is, that wants others to place them upon high, that which claims title to the hate which is privileged for some; its name is listed with abomination. Have you seen or heard the new lexicon and phraseology PSA, the term gay is only to be held as praise for those to be on the in and cool; just another way for wasting taxpayers hard earned labor telling the youth the phrase thats so gay is not acceptable. So, let me tell the genetically and emotionally defective, in which they can grasp their plight in life; Liberalism is a Mental Disorder and being so gay is a double whammy, nothing to be proud of.
Count Discostu, I presume so its contempt of reporter that does it for you. May I suggest that you return to Buttsilvania where public speech is not allowed! And who cares if he insulted someone, his job is by contract, not by being Monica. I can only guess that the Nazi brigades and HR types just get so wet with this type of get-even-withmism.
So 10,000 queers out of 100,000,000 fans think their extreme minority (immoral) view should prevail?
Any team that would allow that deserves to fail.

There is no such thing as a ‘gay slur.’
Gay is as gay does, and such behavior can hardly be slurred!
I see you didn’t bother to actually read or understand what I said.
The problem is he’s a public figure and works for a very public organization, an organization he brought a lot of bad press to in the course of 36 hours of public venting. If you insult your boss in public you’re going to get in trouble regardless of where you work, if you insult your customer in public you’re going to get in trouble regardless of where you work, if you insult a member of the press that covers your industry in public you’re going to get in trouble regardless of where you work. Larry Johnson did ALL THREE in the course of 36 hours. You go ahead and replicate Larry’s actions this weekend and we’ll see if you still have a job Monday morning.
What they’re saying is calling people gay is a slur, we don’t actually know if any of the people he called gay actually are gay. I’m betting you wouldn’t be happy if I called you gay (which I’m not).
I got that, the problem of the slippery slope is in effect, only toadies of the left espouse public sanctions upon the demands of a group that uses Marxists tactics to oppress individual freedoms for their elevation and gain. This is between him and his boss, not a bunch of Homo-Leninists.
In comparison, what were you/others saying when Clinton was diddling Monica as a subordinate, on the clock of the biggest corporation in the world and insulting his boss (American Citizenry), was anyone worried about the press was everyone running with the bulls to EEOC, departments of labor and HRM for sanctions and impeachment based on supposed workplace protocols. No, everyone was covering for their favorite boy. Yet, in this case currently the guy has upset the universe as a pop-culture heretic.
There’s no slippery slope here. Johnson has a long history of criticizing teammates and coaches in the press, of beating up women and just generally being a pain. The guy is a jerk, under normal circumstances he’s one of the poster boys social conservatives like to point to for what’s wrong with the NFL today. But now suddenly he uses the word “fag” a couple of times and social conservatives suddenly love him.
I wasn’t covering for Clinton, I wanted him long before his sexual habits hit public. But where were you when Johnson was getting arrested for beating up women? Did you think he had no place in the league then? And how does calling a couple of people fags suddenly make him a better person?
