Any bills threatening to restructure Medicare payments contained within the health bills will be met with a veto, President Barack Obama pledged Monday.
Obama said during an interview with ABC News that he would veto any bills from Congress that threatens to undo or restructure cuts to Medicare in the House and Senate bills meant to help finance the hundreds-of-billion dollar programs.
"I actually have said that it is important for us to make sure this thing is deficit neutral, without tricks," Obama says. "I said I wouldn't sign a bill that didn't meet that criteria."
"Congress needs to know that when I say this has to be deficit neutral, I mean it," the president added.
Obama additionally said that his administration is starting to look ahead to future budgets to help constrain the deficit and national debt down the line.

Oh, but the AARP says the bill and the Medicare cuts are PERFECTLY OK. Yeah, all you folks who’ve been paying your AARP dues all these years. You paid for the AARP to endorse the Obama plan that is going to harm you, and in some cases, threaten your very existence. The AARP turned its back on, betrayed and sold out its members. Who benefits? WHO BENEFITS? I’m not near there yet, but when I do get there, I am going to decline their kind invitations to join.
In addition to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, Obama has hereby declared full-fledged war on senior citizens in his own country. Senior citizens, everyone with living parents and those who are close to retirement age, or will hopefully one day be a senior citizen needs to be aware that this war is strategically fought by the president at the White House against senior citizens and the few remaining doctors who treat Medicare patients, despite an already very low (almost unacceptable) payment scale from the government.
Obama plans to cut Medicare and Medicaid to ensure virtually no doctor or medical facility will want to treat the nation's elderly. Many standard Treatments will be eliminated to cover only the most basic of medical services to the elderly. This is contemptible, especially in light of the fact that illegal aliens are not turned away from our nation's hospitals and receive the best of treatment (up to and including organ transplants.
Obama himself and democrats who voted for this are contemptible human beings IMHO. This plan is the same as spitting on the nation's elderly and telling them to go ahead and die so that Obama can save pennies on the billions of Stimulus and other dollars he and his fellow democrats are wasting on a daily basis.
By their support of Pelosi-care, the AARP is supportive of death panels (currently remaining in Pelosi-care) for seniors and drastic cuts to the Medicare benefits of senior citizens. If they cared one iota about the people they allegedly represent, they'd be blasting Pelosi-care and DEMANDING a complete investigation regarding Medicare fraud - but instead they are complicit in accepting the administration's plans of Medicare cuts and acceptance nothing will change about prosecuting those who defraud Medicare.
What senior citizen in their right mind would give a dime to an organization like that?
The Pelosi/Obama Medicare cuts are being added to Hospice care. Does that remind you of Hitler’s Germany? Instead of camps, they will do away with the elderly via the Pelosi, DemoRAT solution. Yes, America’s worst nightmare is coming true.

Everytime I read something like this related to Seniors I want to personally kick everyone I know that is a Senior and voted for this creep. I tried my best to warn them but they wouldn’t give up that Democrat vote.
It's no wonder Pelosi et al are pushing these bills through like bullets because they most certainly comprehend Americans are already fed up to the eyeballs with them and this is the only chance they have to do their intended maximum damage possible to our financial system, non-union American workers (now unemployed or to become unemployed during Obama's administration) and the attempted deconstruction of our Constitution before they are kick-booted out of office.
