One international leader was conspicuously absent at the 20 Year Anniversary of the Fall of the Berlin Wall today.
Even the Russian President made it there. Barack Obama is seen on screens during a video message at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, Germany, Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, during the commemorations of the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall on Nov.9, 1989.
Even worse- Obama spoke about himself to the crowd: “Few would have seen on that day that… that their American ally would be led by a man of African descent.”
And, of course, he did not mention Ronald Reagan or Margaret Thatcher in his speech.

He did not attend because he was told he could not bring his teleprompters

Actually, the teleprompters were denied clearance to go to Germany, due to some ranchy video that appeared on some screens in the White House. Ticked off that they were denied such an auspicious event, they nastily called up CBS and reported that Obama made a decision for himself, prompting rage from the puppet master, err, Chief of Staff.
However, the teleprompters know too much, having fed words to Obama for too long, so thus a fall guy has been created in the form of ‘anonymous sources at the Pentagon.’ While they escape blame, they do not escape punishment, and this weekend, the teleprompters will be hosting Brownie Scouts and the children will be invited to fingerpaint on the glass.
Did he really say this???? What a jerk. I wonder how many rolled their eyes at it. I miss Dubya and Reagan ever so much.

Just not showing up and pretending the coalition that created the circumstances for the fall of the wall never happened and then mail it in, with a video, where you drone on about yourself.

Obama’s refusal to attend the wall ceremony has nothing to do with teleprompters....It has to do with a foreign campaign stop he tried to hold before the Brandenburg Gate where he tried to emulate the JFK speech to the Germans. But the socialist government at the time would have no part of it. Because they felt it would put them in the middle of a US political campaign and they were right ! Our fearless leader has a petty and vindictive streak demonstrating lack of the most basic political understanding.
