FORT WALTON BEACH A 59-year-old Fort Walton Beach man was arrested for indecent exposure after a neighbor saw him Tuesday wearing only a G-string.
A woman reported seeing her Tanager Road neighbor sunbathing, wearing only a pink G-string. She told deputies the man stood up two times and she clearly saw his exposed buttocks, according to an Okaloosa County Sheriffs report.
The mans yard also is not enclosed by any fence and is visible from the road, to neighbors and a school bus stop, the report said.
The deputy pulled up to the mans house. When the man saw the deputy, he got up from his lawn chair and went inside. In doing so, the deputy saw the mans buttocks, the report said.
When the deputy spoke with him he smelled alcohol on his breath and, according to the report, only part of his genitalia was covered by the G-string.

This is hardly the same as exposing yourself in public; I think some slapping needs to be done, starting with the lady and then the deputies.

My 50 year old male neighbor sometimes wears that while working in his garden, and it’s really disturbing.
What’s even more disturbing, is he comes across as a “guy’s guy” that’ll talk to you about hunting or oil changes.

Sounds like the woman couldn’t have been that offended since she watched him long enough to see him get up twice. Seems to me that someone had way to much time on her hands.

Any man that wears a “pink g string” should be arrested just on principle.
Now if it was black or some other more manly color, might be interesting to watch.
At any rate, sounds like only part of the jewels were in the case.

I can’t stand cop callers. What ever happened to going over and speaking with your neighbors before getting the law involved?

I'm sure she's seen her fair share of women wearing G-strings..Everybody knows the butt is exposed. The 'butt' is typically referred to as the anus; and a G-string provides coverage over that. The Gluteal muscles are not the anus. Granted, some have much more attractive Gluteal muscles than others; but if the law applies to him, it applies to everyone.

So, you perceive the term bubble butt to mean a distended anus? Bubble butt refers to Glutial muscles - which is hardly something indecent. The part that bothers me, is that we have one woman (and some relatively ignorant deputies) who have determined what is indecent exposure. If convicted, this man faces being listed as a sex criminal - this is hardly the same as exposing one's sexual organs in public.
Besides, you are confusing a colloquialism with a medical term - and the law uses medical terms in describing exactly what is indecent in that particular locale.
If the country wants to limit straps on a G-string to be a minimum width; that's fine. Leaving such terms up to the interpretation of the police or a citizen means we have nonuniform interpretations and enforcement.

No, butt usually refers to the glutes and all. So every bikini on the market should result in an indecent exposure arrest? Every leotard, tankini and Speedo should result in a conviction?

No. The article never said ‘butt’; it said ‘buttocks’.
A poster here on FR said ‘butt’ to kind of make the point “Well duh! Of course the butt (buttocks) are exposed it’s a “G-String!””.
You’re reasoning was poor despite your conclusion being plausible.

Youre reasoning was poor despite your conclusion being plausible. Here's the part you are missing; without the clarification of covering the anus; a jock strap would be acceptable beach wear. Obviously, this is not appropriate beach wear, yet a G-string is permitted. There is a reason why I chose the words I chose; you just weren't astute enough to understand the other ramifications.

Again. Your reasoning was poor despite your conclusion being plausible.
You said that “but” usually refers to an anus. Noone would agree with you.
But refers to the entire hinder part including the anus, the gluteous-maximi amd even the uppermost porting of the quads in 99% of the use.
You should take a logic or reasoning class or something.

Sorry... One other point. A true G-String does not cover the anus. It is a subset of the “thong” having only a string for a waistband, a small triangular piece of material covering the genitalia region of the pelvis and another string connecting the rear center of the waistband string to the bottom of the genitalia covering triangle.
Obviously, a string cannot cover an anus unless your anus (sphincter) is less than 1/8” across.
Some thongs do cover the anus but G-Strings simply pass across the anus.

In all reality, the anus isn’t visible on a nude person. And since when is the anus genitalia? I don’t think the article states anything about anus, rectum, or colon being exposed. The guys butt was showing which is probably contrary to a local ordinance. The end of the article implies the dudes testicles(balls, boys, nuts, etc) may have been exposed.
To: goseminoles
I agree entirely. I am not the one who was trying to redefine the word “butt”. LOL
In reality the gluteous-maximi are what covers the “anus” unless someone desides to “bend over and spread-em”.

Florida beaches, such as Daytona have minimum widths published for acceptable beachwear. If memory serves, they are requiring that the string in question be a least 1 inch in width - for the explicit purpose of covering the anus. I was unsuccessful in finding the exact ordinance; but I did find this article
A police officer made the pinch, arresting Keefe and four other thong-wearing peoplethree men and a womanwho violated an obscure city ordinance prohibiting the revealing of, among other body parts, the "anal cleft."
Source
But, yes there are laws on the books that vary county by county, state to state; that mandate absolute measurements - lest a policeman decide what he feels is appropriate. I've seen the signs on public beaches that give the minimum measurements.
