World Record? Hmmmmm..... [deer, WI]

The internet is burning up with reports of the "new" world record whitetail. The stud 12-pointer apparently tallied a gross green score of 217 5/8 which puts it as the new No. 1 for both P&Y and B&C. The hunter, Michael Gregoire of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, shot the 240-pounder last week.

Great buck, Mike. The heartiest of congratulations. World record? We're rooting for you, but...well, we've been down this road a few too many times to embrace an early score. What do you guys think it might score? Better than Milo Hanson's buck? Or how about Mel Johnson's long-standing P&Y record? We'd love to hear your thoughts.

That’s a green score and will not get close to the Hanson buck in net score.

I don't buy it. While that buck has very good mass, it just doesn't have the total inches that the current P&Y record has:

Makes you wonder how those bucks can even hold their heads up when their racks are so huge & heavy! No wonder the neck meat is best for burger, LOL!

Got my doe for the season in the freezer in nice, neat little packages of yummi-ness! A gift from a friend; I've got no time to stand around in the field these days; well, that's my excuse, anyway. I just don't have the buck lust I used to have in my younger years. ;)

I'll be starting a thread in the near future for everyone to share their venison recipes. I'll ping ya. :)

Now that’s a pretty rack! And he got it with a BOW, no less. That’s impressive! :)

He is a machine... Both of those are brand new state records. That one has 31 points.
