If Madame Pelosi really wants to make it illegal to not carry health insurance, what would be wrong with swamping one of the DC police stations at the next major rally?
Have about 20 thousand people show up at the PD, and all turn ourselves in. What do you think the complicit progressive media would make of that!
"Yes, I'm here to turn myself in for my crimes"
"What did you do?"
"I refuse to buy healthcare"
I suppose we could all have a national turn yourself in day..................
Tyrants, criminals and would-be dictators threatening the American people with IMPRISONMENT??!! Twenty thousand should become twenty million and MORE—armed and prepared to reclaim our nation and our liberty. Who in the HELL do political elites think they are and WHEN will we put them back in their place!
The law would not be a District of Columbia ordinance.
The law is not written yet.
You might have 20,000 arrested for obstruction of justice, but not for refusal to buy healthcare insurance that is not mandated yet.
The actual penalties are not in the House Bill. The 2.5% fine will be collected as a tax by the IRS. Any civil or criminal penalties are presently in place within the tax code. IRS enforcement agents, assisted by other Treasury agencies, would be the go to guys for arrest.
We can’t refuse in advance?
Nuts. I was gettin all wee-weeed up.
OH @#@$*! Our hospitals are going to have the competence of the public schools and the bedside manner of the tax Nazis. I think I'm going to start going to my veterinarian for doctoring
I love your tag. Maybe the last honorable politician.
Even though the bill hasn’t been finalized or passed, there are provisions for financial penalties and incarceration.
You might have an avenue to embarrassing questions such as what agency will be in charge of assessing and collecting fines, an existing one such as IRS or a new one, what will the budget be, where will the fines go?
Tbe same for incarceration (which as of now, I believe is a felony — and why is that?) What will the length of incarceration be? What type of facility?
Since no one can answer the Constitutionality of the bill, they surely haven’t thought about the consequence/penalty phase.
Aren’t finances and fines determined by the Senate anyway?
