Any idea when the annual war on Christmas will start hitting the media? Genereal consensus where I work, is next friday.

I don't know.
In our family we celebrate Christmas. My grandkids have Christmas parties with their friends, we say Merry Christmas to everyone we know (including store clerks, who are always appreciative)......if there is a war our family does not participate.

Since the mood is - Xmas - and not Christmas -I do not Christmas shop and this is the time when retailers make their money - on Christmas shoppers. Those that I gift w/money can use it for bills, gas, eat out, save it, whatever. They get what they want and I save myself a hassle and live by my principles.
Also, in the past teachers did not get gifts but a CHRISTMAS card.

Here at Fort Benning we have the Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation where officrs and NCOs from countries like Colombia, Honduras, and Peru come to train. This weekend leftist protestors will be here at Fort Benning protesting against the WHINSEC (and really against Fort Benning as a whole). Yet this DOD institute has been infected with political correctness.
Now their Christmas Ball is a Winter Ball. The Latin military do not agree with this but the name change came from the Americans.

What is particularly amusing to me (as a Musician) is that every year around this time I have SO MANY requests for Christmas Music, especially the sacred kind, from my mostly JEWISH clients! I attribute it perhaps to the fact that much of this music has been written by the greatest musical geniuses of all time, such as Bach, Handel, Mendelssohn,and of course.....Cole Porter and Mel Torme! LOL!
I call it CHRISTmas, celebrate it and Chanukhah, and have a blast.
I don’t, however, celebrate the Eid, which involves slaughtering a goat.

F&F this morning talked about the annual christmas boat parade, somewhere on Long Island. Last year they renamed it Holiday, and a) had a tea party experience, and b) had the lowest turnout for the parade that they’d ever had, so this year they changed it back to Christmas.
