Nice pic. I’d love to see a pic from the same area, about the same time, before the fall of the USSR. Would be an interesting comparison.
I would have said Hong Kong.
I first went there in ‘95. There really is no comparison, the city looked pretty desperate.
from that pic, it looks like a capitalist city now.
i remember the cold war pics of the ussr. everything looked so bleak.
that is Moscow?
The second pic is HK Central District, beautiful city, truly wonderful people.
It looks very pretty. wonder if they will have to use those mercury laden lights?
Every time I return it is like a new city. I liked the 1990s when the Dollar was King, and the provincial cities still had no franchise restaurants. Moscow is like Paris today. Only more expensive.
