Then I would go ahead and try the rid-x solution another poster offered to you and see how it works. You should also make absolutely sure that the vent isn’t obstructed at all as other posters have mentioned.
Lastly, be careful! Sewer gas can be an explosion/fire hazard as well as being noxious - it CAN kill you.
IF something got clogged in the drain, and didn’t get entirely dislodged by the pipe cleaning, there could be a partial abstruction still causing problem.
This of course is all speculation.
As to your previous post, I was assuming the sump was fairly large where the pump grabs the water, but maybe it is a very small sump. It does make sense that your sink faucet can’t put out enough water to cause a backup, but it seems odd that your sink DRAIN can do so, since it is probably 1 1/4 inch.
I guess though that it can dump just enough water into the sump that the pump keeps running long enough to back up the water, but that the water faucet itself can’t deliver quite enough water to make it happen.
My father-in-law has a basement sump because the basement is below his septic tank/drainfield. It’s a constant source of difficulty, and something I’d love to avoid in any house I ever live in. Gravity is our friend.
