The headline on this Guardian article is pretty sanitized:

But you don't have to read very far to see that the media has zero interest in investigating the content of the emails.
They want the leakers destroyed; as do the scientists.
No wonder liberalism is so seductive.

Can anybody be surprised by this? I’m not. The media are very dutiful in their protection of left wing causes.

The only way for this to survive the growing cover-up is for somebody big to get involved. And I don’t mean get involved in the nitty gritty details of these particular emails. I mean get involved in the larger question of what does the scientific community know about the real lack of global warming and when did they know it.
Somebody really big.
Somebody Sarah Palin big.
They can howl about the hackers all they want but the information in question had been wrongfully denied under the Freedom of Information Act, so cry me a river.
They have the media on their side.
I just hope our media is big enough to combat this.
It may end up being us who crys a river.
Having the media on their side is a huge, huge deal. That’s why I constantly say that our biggest enemy is the media. Not Obama, congress, academia, or anything else. We have to defeat this media first.
FIA requests or not. It’s illegal to cross the left.(in their minds)
It may take a while to develop, a la Watergate, but develop it will.
Either that or scientific integrity will have gone completely out the window, right along with journalism’s.
How much of this fraud, along with mortgages, Wall St., and the pending “Healthcare” that’s NOT a healthcare bill are we paying for?Really. and how does it happen. How do all these congressioanl representatives and senators arrive on capitol hill with 6 figure net worths and leave with 8? and still have the nerve to return to their communities and look us all in the eye? that’s OUR fault..We the People’s fault.
I agree but I have my doubts that it will happen soon. Democrats and the media wanted to to get to the bottom of Watergate. The MSM will defend the Green Cult on this one and any Republicans who speak out will be ignored. There is already enough skepticism regarding AGW in the legitimate scientific community and among the public that anyone supporting cap and trade is quite apparently either ignorant, stupid, or corrupt. If this story got the media attention it deserves, cap and trade would be dead, and too many people would have to admit being duped.
All true. This could be, however, the issue that makes the “new media” the Real Media because it will be hear that the story takes shape and is thoroughly promulgated.
The mainstream media has apparently decided to “go down with the ship”. They continue to lose credibility. They are exhibiting the “kamikaze syndrome”.
Unfortunately, with this e-mail scandal, the scientific world will also lose some credibility.
