When I was a kid, like most kids, I wanted to be an astronaught. But I never outgrew it. I got into engineering in college in hopes of someday getting into the Space Program. I fell in love and got married and those dreams became just wishes and regrets of things never done. But I always wondered how it would have been. A few years ago we went on a family trip to Disneyworld and hit all the parks. Disneyworld, Epoct Center, all of them.

We got on a ride called Mars Mission or something similar, hosted by an actor I very much respect, Gary Sinse. More than a ride, it was a simulator. The most thrilling 5 minutes of my life (the most thrilling 4 minutes of my life were on my wedding night, much to my bride's disappointment), were that ride.

I remember getting off of that ride with tears in my eyes after having a taste of what could have been. I can only imagine what going up on a flight like this would be like.

The narrator is a little obsessed with boiling body fluids but the whole thing was amazing indeed. Piloting the plane in very thin air must be a real challenge.

I used to regularly go up in a cherry picker that reached 35’. You get used to it but at first it’s pretty hairy.

I was a telephone man for 30 years. Hooked a 60 ft pole once. Pole was so big around the butt I let my belt out to the last notch and had to have help getting the thing around it to belt off. I climbed that one with my belt instead of belting off at the top. Had to readjust my belt at the top.

I didn't like it. Funny what you'll do for money. I had to put up with cat calls from the 90 ft climbers. I was too slow and cautious for them. Actually, I had to stop and rest a couple of times before the top. I was having trouble breathing through my ass as my pucker string was too tight.

Get a load of the fuel leaking from the top surface of the SR-71’s wing. If I’m not mistaken that’s the 2-seat pilot trainer version. She’s limited to approx. 1/2 the top speed of the operational models without the ‘hump’.

Very distinctive landing; here it 'quits flying' at the proper moment, but the Dragon Lady doesn't always cooperate.

I used to know a guy that designed tall antennas. Real tall - like in the 1500' foot range. He told me he had to climb them once in a while.

His brother died on one. They rigged a bucket to go to the top. The anchor in the ground came out and his brother fell about 1000' feet.

I used to know the Rukavina brothers. They put the antennas on top of buildings. One they did was the Sears Tower. NO WAY on earth am I going up there.
