Tiger Woods' wife, Elin Nordegren, changed the story she told the first officer on the scene, according to law enforcement sources.
The Windemere Police Department says Tiger's wife went outside, saw that her husband had struck a fire hydrant and a tree, and then went back inside the house for a golf club to use to try and extricate him from the vehicle. But we've learned Nordegren told a very different story to the Florida Highway Patrol, and it does not involve going back in the house for a club. Our sources will not allow us to be more specific.
And we've learned there was no blood found on the steering wheel of Tiger's SUV -- putting into serious doubt that Tiger sustained his injuries from the crash.
As we first reported, Tiger had a conversation with a friend yesterday, in which he said his wife had confronted him over reports he was involved with another woman ... and that his wife scratched his face up during the argument. Tiger told the friend he then left the house, started driving off and his wife then came out with a golf club, striking the vehicle. Tiger then became distracted and hit the hydrant and then a nearby tree.
We're told cops will interview Tiger and his wife later today.
UPDATE: A neighbor tells TMZ they saw cops show up at Tiger's house this morning -- only to get turned away again. Tiger's wife, Elin, was spotted (below) driving out of the Isleworth subdivision in Windermere earlier today.

She hit him in the face with a glancing blow but does not break any teeth. he retreated because he does not hit women. She chases with the 9 iron he jumps in the escalade she starts beating it with the club then throws it through theback window. he gets woozy and crashes. She realizes its a scandal and feels sorry for him so she goes and lays him on the grass and waits for the police.

What’s the spousal abuse law in Florida. In some states, it doesn’t matter if the victim wants to press charges or not- the cops are required to make an arrest.
TMZ and that weasel, Harvey Levin represent everything that is wrong with our culture.
That being said...so now the cops have been turned away twice by the woman who probably inflicted injuries on him. This would never happen if it were reversed. I hope he’s ok.
Elin is too busing digging up her pre-nup to see how rich she’s about to be.
What I don’t buy about that story is her dragging him out of the car. She’s a small woman...no blood in the car..maybe she was driving the car?
He got out of the vehicle either pissed or dazed or both. Either the steering wheel knocked the sense out of him or she did with the club -- although being hit with something like that directly in the bean would likely be fatal, imho.
I wonder if he was smart enough to have her sign a pre-nup?
Yes, that is the law in FL. If the police suspect that there's a violent altercation between two people in a domestic relationship, they are required by law to make an arrest. The police conduct in this matter has thus far been FAR below standard practices, in my estimation.
He tried to leave with a golf club?? Huh? I have seen a TV commercial with Phil practicing his putting in the dark while the other guys are on the driving range.

OTOH, TMZ will do the stories about celebrities that are painfully unflattering. Now, normally I wouldn't care. But, in today's day in age where celebrities enjoy so much political influence, I'm appreciative of the fact that there's a website that reasonably describes the celebrity reprobate as they truly are and not as their publicist would have us believe them to be. FWIW.

I’m still a bit vague on the woozy part. The LEOs said he was in and out of consciousness. You have to take a pretty good hit to the head to be knocked out.
Orlando the golf capitol of the world? I bet the owner of Isleworth (aka Tavistock aka Joe Lewis), thePGA, the Golf Channel (Disney), Nike, Gatorade, American Express, the big consulting company (Accenture??) and every other sponsor has lawyers and PR spin people are there.
Any cops says anything and I bet it will be his or her badge. He hit that tree pretty hard. There are online pics and the whole front is pushed back to the wheel well.
The only thing that will happen is probably a divorce in a few months. Nike will give Elin a few million to play nice. My guess is she is pretty done with him. Someone on the Internet posted a picture of her and for such a young pretty girl she is aging a bit.
The States Attorneys Office proscutes these cases in Florida despite the wishes of the alleged victim. It is one of the few misdemeanors(and possibly a felony in this case) where an officer doesn’t have to witness it. Provided there is adequate evidence.

Most of TMZ’s articles are unflattering to celebrities. It’s GOTCHYA journalism. I just don’t like that fact that anyone will sell you out for a piece of gold... Especially law enforcement. He’s got people in law enforcement, at hospitals, hotels. It’s creepy and I don’t think it’s right.

Last evening’s news reported the wife knocked out the back window with the club, to pull Tiger out. Thats where it became clear this is not an innocent story. Why on earth would she knock out the back window, and drag him over the seats?
Sad that she will probably be charged with some sort of domestic violence...
and sadder yet that this indicates the cheating rumors may be true. They are both human and imperfect...too bad for their kids.
You are not saying he had his bad knee, operation and left the PGA tour for 8 months the week before the PGA started mandatory testing for steroids are you? How long would it take for steroids to flush out of your system?
How do you “turn away the police”??!! This is making me VERY ANGRY. And no drug test? The cops admit he was out of it at the scene. You or I would be in jail.
I should add that once an arrest has been made, it is virtually impossible - with the way the laws are written today - for the prosecutor NOT to prosecute. And, every state in the union has stripped the spousal privilege from the marital parties in these cases. IOW, unlike other criminal cases, spouses can and will be forced to testify.
Now, some jurisdiction are more adherent to these laws than others. From my experience, FL is on of the more aggressive states with respect to making spouses testify against one another in these cases. Again, FWIW.

So what if they had a fight? Whose business is it anyway. On Fox it was reported today that the woman who is named in this tryst says she does not know Woods or his family.
There are enough people who are jealous of Woods success and would love to see harm come to him.
If he had an affair let him settle it with his wife in private. TMZ is no better than the gossip rags on the stands at the checkout in grocery and other stores.

Yes, I agree with you 100%. The leaking of the Rihanna photo in the Chris Brown case was unconscionable. From what I gather, there will be some heads rolling in LAPD for that soon.
While I don't recall the exact specifics, police policy was violated in the Mel Gibson DUI case as well. It had something to do with the comments that Gibson allegedly made. Some cop leaked information to TMZ, and he should have been fired and possibly prosecuted for it.
