I'm sorry, but if Woods were a white male with all these controversies, he would be ancient history to the PGA and the "sponsors" right now.

No need to be sorry about it...you're absolutely right.

Ya think Fuzzy Zoeller's enjoying a whole potful of Schadenfreude at Tiger's trevails?

I know I'm repeating myself, but the PGA Tour is $hitting divots as we speak. You know Tiger's going to cut back his appearances, sponsors of non-Tiger tournaments are tired of paying the primo rates, and the fan base is hurting economically.

I hope I’m wrong, but the parallels between him and OJ are frightening.

Someone in Japan came out with a computerized video of how the Woods’ debacle acted out. It was just as I had imagined it.

Not too cynical at all. Someone on Larry King’s panel this week suggested that most PGA golfers are cheats what with all the spare time they have on their hands. Larry feigned shock.

Sex is legal with a license and marijuana should be too.

I’m sure Tiger thought of it as “negotiation”, similar to what he’s doing now to keep Elin at home.

I agree with you. And then couple in that he’s so arrogant it just drips from him...and the fact that it seems NO ONE has ever said no to him. Everyone bows in his presence and wouldn’t dare say a negative thing about him. I’m sure he felt immortal. The world was in his hands and he could say or do anything he wanted.

Sounds like zerobama.

I don't think we can compare elected officials to sports celebrities since the private sector can easily determine who they will prop up and who they will drop like a bad habit. This is especially true of the companies who hand-pick their posterboys for cereals like Wheaties and video games like "PGA Tour Golf."

Woods is nowhere near as slick as Bill Clinton. Clinton knew how to lie and manipulate the system. Woods is just stupid and greedy.

I still maintain that a white male in the privately funded golf/corporate world would be ancient history if he had the situation that Woods currently has.

Ambien sex? Is she kidding? The smart thing to do would have been to give him the ambien, drinks and then have him pass out. Then when he woke, tell him it was wild and crazy, too bad he can’t remember.

Is Nordegren an American citizen? Because if she’s not, and she divorces Woods, could that make her staying in the country problematic? If so, this may not be so much about money as it is being with her kids.

She was a nanny and married a U.S. citizsn, so that means she had/has a green card. No problem staying here.

FWIW, I don't see any diff between pols and big name athletes. Both groups have fans and corporate sponsors.

I only wish pols came contracted with morals clauses.

Until her green card runs out. Pity she didn’t become a citizen.

“Tiger has always been driven and disciplined; the first-guy-up-last-guy-home type. People like that tend to be highly cautious about anything that might threaten their success at work. They keep a clean nose and don’t take unnecessary risks. I see a conflict in him that (maybe) also led him to hang out with the sort of celebrity “friends” who attract trouble like peanut butter draws mice - right into a trap.”

But didn’t Tiger sell pictures/access of his wedding to the media for mucho dinero? Celebs have to realize that there might be follow up stories, especially if they make what passes for news today. And that the media are ANIMALS. It’s like getting in a bear cage and being outraged that the bear mauls you, or chumming the water, going skinny dipping, and then being scandalized that a shark attacks.

Freegards

You know whats funny, I couldn't stand him when he first came out. I thought he was a nasty spoiled brat.

But then, over the years, I bought into his “image” as a nice guy. The pic with the kids and dog and wife ... so nice. That got me. I liked him, finally.

My initial instincts were correct. First impressions are usually on the mark. Hes a self absorbed JO.

Agreed.

Makes me wonder if Wheaties, Nike, Gatorade, Cadillac, EA Sports and the rest will stick with him or not.

Why would any responsible company hawk sports drinks, video games and breakfast cereals with Woods' ugly head on the cover knowing that children and young adults are the vast majority of consumers for such things?
