I am a big fan of the Chalcedon Foundation and the work of its late founder, the great R. J. Rushdoony.
“Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it.”
Genesis 1:28, and Genesis 8:17, and Genesis 9:1
GOD didn’t say, ‘If it is YOUR will’, or ‘If it pleases YOU’, or ‘If YOU decide to do so’,
or ‘IF IT IS YOUR CHOICE’.
No, He said ‘DO IT’, It is GOD’s will, not ours, that children should be brought into this world.
This command was repeated at least three times in Genesis alone, and there are similar verses in other books. Now, why does anyone repeat himself?
To drive home a very important point. Life is a gift from God and is precious.
Amen & Amen!
Our God is the Creator of all things: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him; and without Him was not anything made that was made.” (John 1:1-3)
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory of the only begotten of thr Father), full of Grace and truth. (John 1:14)
“But what things were gain to me, I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ.” (Philippians 3:7-8)
Do you call our God, our Heavenly Father, just horse waste, that is biblically “dung.”
Maybe you have too occupied with the wrong of the horse.
The Apostle Paul counted all things but dung, that he might win Christ. (Phil. 3:9)
"Thou shalt not murder a child by abortion, nor again shalt thou kill it when it is born."
Epistle of Barnabas 19:5
And so do social philosophies.
Edwin declares that the unborn baby is not a baby. It is a body part. It is like teeth or hair, something that can be done away with.
I have always liked this argument the best; there is a logical, common sensical answer to this one that even the most hard hearted has not been able to sufficently answer.
If that is the case (if a baby is just a body part to be done away with) than how is it an “agonizing decision” that must be handled with compassion for the woman who is making the choice? When my mother had breast cancer, I never for one second agonized over cutting those nasty cells out of her body. When that wasn’t enough, I never for a second said, oh mom, should you really consider removing your breast? Nope, both she and I said, TAKE IT OFF! I still have my mom, minus one breast, and she is still clear, praise God, after several years. Same with both of my sons. When they developed appendicitis, I didn’t agonize for one millisecond. I had them remove the appendix and never gave it a second thought. Its a no brainer- it is agonizing BECAUSE it ISN’T just another body part.
To top it all off, I have one more quick comparison. When my husband and I first married, we thought we had concieved our first child. I had several pregnancy tests, and my uterus was growing. At about 10 weeks, I started to miscarry. The doctors wanted to do a d and c for fear of infection. I refused until I KNEW there was no baby. We did a couple of ultrasounds, I counselled with my mother and a priest. Both said without a heartbeat detected, if there was a baby it was no more, so I should follow the doctors orders. I went in to have the d and c. When I came out of the anestheisa, I was hysterical. All I wanted to know was if there was a baby. Finally, the exhasperated nurse went to get my doc. He told me that there was no fetal tissue at all. There was a placenta begun but that it was probably an older egg or sperm and it just fizzled out. My body kept trying to make a placenta for a time but then quit as the hormones died off. I was so relieved, I could then calm down and doze off.
I have never come out of anesthesia like that before (appendectomy, hysterectomy, so I have some knowledge of how I react). Don’t tell me its just the same as pulling a tooth or getting a biopsy. It ain’t......
