Okay, FReepers, I have been looking for this movie for years and would love to find it for "he who has everything". Only problem is, we've both forgotten the title. Me because it has been a while, me because...well...I'm me. lol
All I really remember is that this fella keeps dreaming that someone is trying to give him a message and keeps saying "This is not a dream." If I remember correctly, later in the movie it is revealed that the person appearing is him. It isn't a dream, he has traveled through time to give himself a warning.
Color? Black and White?, sounds like an episode from Twilight Zone to me.
Any idea on the year? We talking black and white/60’s, 80’s, last ten years?
Any other details?
There was that John Carpenter film “Prince of Darkness” that involed someone in the future beaming back “dreams” as a warning.
Okay, sorry.......more info:
Not Total Recall ...more like a B-ish movie but fairly well done.
The guy kept syncing in and out with static and such...like TV when I was a kid.
Ooops, you said 80’s.
OOH, heading to IMDB to see if that was it!!!
Need more info. Actors? Warning about what? Memorable scenes, etc.
This sounds like John Carpenter’s ‘Prince of Darkness,’ where someone in the future is sending a message back in time to avoid an event that turns out to be catastrophic.
It’s a pretty bad movie.
Check the memorable quotes:
Voice: This is not a dream... not a dream. We are using your brain's electrical system as a receiver. We are unable to transmit through conscious neural interference. You are receiving this broadcast as a dream. We are transmitting from the year one, nine, nine, nine. You are receiving this broadcast in order to alter the events you are seeing. Our technology has not developed a transmitter strong enough to reach your conscious state of awareness, but this is not a dream. You are seeing what is actually occurring for the purpose of causality violation.
Nope, that wasn’t it. dang.
I think that is the quote! Is that from the carpenter movie? (We still see John around town here occasionally, by the way. Nice guy.)
How about the movie “Frequency”
Okay, I was wrong...THAT IS IT!!!
I should’ve KNOWN Freepers would come through for me!!!
Sounds a little like “12 monkeys” starring Bruce Willis.
Yes. Look in the memorable quotes section:
