When did you watch it? Recently? It doesn’t really resmble what it was in the early to mid 90s. It’s one of the greatest cultural celebrations of the Nuclear Family in American history.
Troy McClure: "They haven't changed a bit!"
Because I have been blasted with the dang commercials and advertising of it all these years I know enough about it to detest it.
Didn’t let my kids watch this mess when they were little, they don’t watch it now as adults.
May strike a chord with some, to most people I know, it’s just garbage.
It’s not really meant for kids. John Ashcroft was a big fan. It’s an American institution.
Actually that isn’t nearly enough to know anything about it.
I think Simpsons jumped the shark when it moved to Sunday night from Thursday.
It starting getting good around season 3, peaked from 5-7, and was still alright for 8. After 8, it seriously declined and I think you might be able to have maybe 1 season’s worth of good shows out of the next 12 years.
As was stated above, it lost its edge and with that it lost the comedy.
This last season or 2 of South Park has been 90% misses as well. The last really good show on was Battlestar Galactica, and I hope Caprica the spinoff works as well.
That was the 2nd season. It peaked after that.
You are incorrect.
Making an argument that 30 second ads are enough to know about something as multifarious as the Simpsons is silly. That’s like saying ‘Lolita is just about child porn’. It’s been embraced by various Christian groups.
