SALT LAKE CITY — Utah police say the husband of a 28-year-old woman who disappeared more than a week ago is hindering the investigation.

West Valley City Police Capt. Tom McLachlan says Josh Powell didn't show up for an interview Monday on the advice of his attorney. McLachlan says that's costing authorities valuable time in the effort to find Powell's wife, Susan.

You were saying ...

He seems a sguilty as sin.

And that provides the most excellent reason for anyone to shut up (when found in a similar circumstance)... LOL...

It was like 7 degrees that morning. Seems funny that he would suddenly decide to take his two young children out for the day “camping”.

Even fishier, a story I read about this yesterday had them leaving for their camping trip around midnight.

All of my ex-military buddies who became cops have seen it and agree.

Yeah, and I don't have anything against cops and want to get rid of them or don't think we need them in our society. They're important.

BUT, I do not see any reason for giving them the rope to hang me with it... especially at a time when I know they've got their beady eyes on me... :-)

Let them do their job and I'll do mine, as a citizen excercising my rights.

His original story was about as believable as some of the denials I get from my five year old when asked about the missing cookie jar.

Ummmm..., I can see that you're one who REALLY needs to see that video. Even the professional police investigator there, agrees with it... :-)

Hopefully the woman has just found a better deal and fled.
This guy is obviously a nut job. You can see that when he responds to questions.
One of my neighbors wives just took off with some guy she met on a face book account.
Left the kids, beautiful home, busband of many years and fled. Was she that tired of this ass? Hopefully.
But most probably you are right and she is dead.

"I knew the husband did it when the story broke..."

I just read about this case for the first time a few moments ago, and withheld judgment until I learned more.

I don't think that I got through two short paragraphs of the police findings in what they call a suspicious disappearance before I decided that this husband is certainly no hard boiled criminal mastermind.

Not even a Colorado police detective could screw this case up.

Sure.
So did Sam Shepard and Jeffrey MacDonald.
Both were convicted and maintained their innocence.
Shepard’s conviction was ultimately overturned, MacDonald still rots in prison.

Regardless of guilt or innocence, having a lawyer is not only a good idea, it should be your FIRST idea.

Fortunately, we've got "Constitutional Rights" that all us conservatives know about very well -- that we can exercise (and always should exercise) -- that your five-year old doesn't have in his home, with his parents...

If there is one big mistake that people might make with the police, it would be thinking of them as your Mommy and Daddy... LOL...

***If someone turns up missing in your family, get an attorney and shut up — because the police believe it’s you -***

Mark Lunsford and Drew Peterson are two appalling examples of public bias and police favoritism.

I’ll admit to a bias against psychics *assisting* law enforcement. However, I expect many of us have noticed how our *instincts* are usually proven true when we hone in on body language and speech patterns of those who are later found guilty.

Mark Lunsford was clearly an anguished father and Peterson is a slimeball.

If she went off with a guy she met on Facebook, that would be great...at least she would not be dead especially at the hands of her husband, unfortunately, I think we both know she is a gonner and her weirdo husband did it.

The police are not on his side whether he is innocent or not. The crap about hindering the investigation is a trick sack. Never talk to the police without the advice of an attorney. NEVER!

If someone turns up missing in your family, get an attorney and shut up

A totally innocent husband, who discovers that a wife or child is missing, and could be in who knows what danger, where minutes could make the difference between finding her safely alive or not, should he -

A. Contact the police immediately, tell them everything he knows about where she last was and possibly might be and encourage them to mobilize all resources to find her? or

B. Follow your advice and contact an attorney and shut up.

I suppose if you never want to see your family member again, you might follow option B.

I can see you need to see that video... :-)

The attorney can provide all the details necessary for the search of a missing person.

****One of my neighbors wives just took off with some guy she met on a face book account.***

I have to believe she was not callous enough to make it look as if he killed her? Did she tell him? Leave her car keys and cell phone? Quit her job without telling anyone?

It seems you knew what she did - so she was never *missing* or did you leave something out?

Inquiring minds want to know - NOW!
