Film studios are a frequent stop for the typical Los Angeles tourist – and the really lucky ones sometimes get a brief glimpse of favorite star making a movie.
Technically, things aren’t vastly different for the folks who book their trips through Porn Week – though these vacationers catch a whole lot more than a quick glimpse of the actors. Instead, they’re on the set of a porn film – watching, helping behind the scenes or (if they’re brave enough) perhaps joining the cast themselves.
It’s Fantasyland, to be sure – but Mickey and Donald are nowhere in sight.
A porn-themed vacation is hardly everyday, but it’s not as far from the mainstream as you might think. In fact, the U.K.’s Bravo television network has aired a reality show centered around the Porn Week travel company for more than four seasons.

Week’s customers – but the financial demographics might surprise you. At roughly $2,000 per trip, the vacations aren’t for the cash poor. And the sets are as likely to be to Prague or Budapest as they are to LA, which boosts airfare costs (which aren’t included in the package). This, says organizers, helps weed out the riff-raff.
“We don’t tend to get the raincoat brigade,” says Gazzman. “We’ve had everyone from airplane pilots to doctors to dentists. … Because of the price point of the business, it attracts a certain level of client. There aren’t many yahoos who turn up on our trips. We can have a fairly sophisticated experience – with glasses of wine on sets and watching the porn happening while people are relaxing and kicking back.”

Not all of So Cal is that bad, although it does have its moments. Northern CA tends to vote much more blue, while Orange County, Riverside County, San Beranrdino County, and parts of San Diego county consistently vote conservative.
OTOH, we just moved from that part of CA to the midwest to get away from California’s government and the illegal aliens.

I see what you are saying but I believe your reasoning to be flawed. There is a difference in drinking and getting drunk. A difference that one is enjoyment the other is abuse. One will do little to no harm and one will open up a box of pain that if continued leads to loss and possibly death.
There is no enjoying porn a little bit without consequence. Once taken in it is destructive from even the smallest amounts. It works on the psyche and on your emotions and more. It says that the real life is not satisfying. It takes from you every time.

I remember reading elsewhere where sexual assaults and other sex related crimes are down. So perhaps people getting themselves off by viewing porn has reduced all that. There is much more viewing of porn by the United States military over in the battle zone than in previous wars yet sexual assaults and rapes is rare.
As for marriage, I remember years ago at a National Guard unit I was in most of the old timers would gather together after drill and watch porn and drink some beer. About all of them was happily married for years and will be until they die. I am thinking of all the troubled marriages I have known and I can’t think of porn being the cause of the problem for any. I am sure there is a few but there was much bigger issues for most couples than porn. Frankly I find it pitiful these churches who preach over and over about porn yet most of their congregation is divorced or having problems because they ignore bigger issues. In fact in my personal opinion the Churches has really screwed the pooch about the sanity of marriage.
Other than that, one man’s porn might be another man’s art.

Now you're actually getting somewhere...It is correct to assert that most divorces do not happen over night. Heck, even adultery started some time ago in a persons life. It CAN and often DOES start with porn. Porn is a gateway to total dissatisfaction. After all, that hot little number who takes it any way you want to give it and does so for an hour or more is soooo much better than your not-so-hot wife. I stand amazed at the men who sell their souls here to the point of the destruction of their marriage because their wife does not look like she did when younger, pre-kids and on and on. Instead of thinking of the pain and suffering she went through to give him children, instead of thinking of this amazing act of devotion he thinks with his package and keeps going back for more and ultimately losses interest in a love relation for that of a physical one. Do you really want to deny this happens? You hate porn and challenge anybody to tell you what is good about it. Hell I dislike motorcycles, cars are much safer and quieter. They make me nervous when I am in traffic with some motorcycle just waiting for him to do something stupid. So what is good about motorcycles when people are more likely killed riding them? The difference is that I treat motorcyclists like adults, I don’t go around condemning their behavior. They like to ride, they take the risk, who am I to lecture them.
I can’t say I would pay $2000 to see porn stars in action like the original article but if that is what they want to do with their time and money I am not going to get on my moral high horse about it. Really “what good is it?” might be the most dangerous statement in the human language. Humans don’t need to eat beef, we can get protein elsewhere. A Vegan can say “What good is eating beef?” and explain all the reasons why cattle raising is bad for the environment. Some else might ask “What good is Jewelry?” seriously the gold and diamonds in jewelry is gotten at a horrible human cost in lives and injuries compared with other things. Cold medicine in my state might only be prescribed by prescription because state law enforcement is saying “what good is sudafed if they are going to use it to make meth”. I am getting to the point let them make meth as long as I can get sudafed for a cold.
There comes a point where your war against a perceived wrong may infringe upon my rights. Mr. ICE I don’t know your personal story, maybe a loved one did ruin her life in the porn industry. Maybe your minister is on a power trip preaching against it. Perhaps you got some guilt about past events. I don’t know and I don’t care.
This is what I do know, of all the guys I have known I estimated at least 99% of them has viewed porn. Could a certain percent have a problem? Sure there is those addicted to the stuff like those addicted to smoking or drugs or alcohol or other stuff. There is a certain percent of religious types that goes totally nuts about their religion beyond reason. Should we ban religion because of their behavior?
So the question becomes at what point do you say the majority of users of something lose their rights to it because a minority can’t handle it? Are you calling for a complete ban on it, have the military raid adult bookstores and search house to house for porn tape collections? And at what point do you define porn? Just explicit sexual acts or is it nudity or do we say suggestive acts and clothing. Will we have public burning of J.C. Penny catalogs because they have women in bras in them? Or will women be required to wear burka’s in order to save the institution of marriage?
Like the cold medicine ban there is a certain point where the perceived evil is better than the cure to most people.
Appreciate your tact here. I would like, however, to point out something important...
I am a conservative and I would be a fraud to that were I not to stand up for the constitution. No where in my exchanges on this subject have I ever said or supported a ban or restriction or anything else. I do believe that this is up to community and in many ways they have effectually answered by zoning, access and other such restrictions. I fully support keeping it as far from kids as possible. But liberals complain that “they’re going to do it anyway” which is mostly just their catch all phrase to justify their own failures in life. Yes, I saw porn as a kid, maybe you did too and I can easily see how it jaded my view of girls and sex and more as I grew into a teen and young man.
However...
I will always stand against ANY attempts to redefine what porn is when a value is being assigned. If someone dares to call it harmless I will challenge it. If someone thinks its mainstream I will show that it is not. When someone tries to water down the stigma attached to it and all that surrounds it I will re-attache it as best I can. If the debate enters the public square I would suggest that it must be ready to face me and others on it. I am sure that there are firebrand issues you consider worthy of this kind of reaction. Again this does not mean I don’t support the law and the constitution. Because just like the meth/sudafed issue I am in total agreement with you. Big Bad Government has done nothing more than restrict 99% for the 1% problem. I would offer that far more people are affected by porn that you may be willing to admit but you were correct in suggesting that the harm I have seen has hit close to home.

Well sir we are not really that far apart on the issue. Pretty much I would love to see all internet porn and nudity web sites be required to move to a new domain which would be required to have something like dot sex or dot porn or dot adult instead dot com or dot net. Doing so would allow very effective parental and organizational software filters to block out porn from children. Right now the Internet is the wild west.
I believe adult magazines, bookstores, stripclubs, etc might decline on their own because of internet porn. If people can get it cheap or free and in private rather than paying ten bucks or whatever for a Penthouse or risk being robbed going to a strip club then that takes alot of the money out of it.
So that leaves mainstream media as the major problem, the money isn’t in it for them anymore. With internet porn so widely available really the lure of a topless part don’t increase the audience as it once did. But the Hollywood types will still push it because it ticks off Conservatives.
Personally I don’t want sex in my regular entertainment, it usually a crutch or gimmick that shows lack of talent, just like most movies with excessive bad language turns me off for the same reason. I think ratings reflect that others feel the same way but the Hollywood elites love to press buttons for attention.
What will end Hollywood trying to mainstream porn in my opinion might not be you and me objecting to it but if Roseanne Barr and Rosy O’Donnell insist on doing nude lesbian love on network prime time.
People might argue with you about the effect of porn on marriage but argue that you never want to see Helen Thomas nude on HBO and even the biggest defender of porn has to agree.
Now you've gone ahead and done it...there's now a picture in my head that defies all things decent that I must overcome most likely by extreme measures combined with a drug overdose and a re-start of my heart after 4 minutes so I lose just enough brain function to forget it. LOL!!! You're about right on our agreement not being far off. I look for the people to control this and not ban's. The people can "regulate it" pretty stringently but it will take self-control and a public stigma to put it in its place and a society that does not diminish the value of an intimate relationship and encourage degradation of it in the public square.
